Letter From Terri's Brother
Week of November 30, 2009
Dear Friends,
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It seems that we often forget the ordinary blessings that we receive every day and this special day gives us the opportunity to remind us to take the time to pray and thank God for his continuous graces.
Health Care Battle Rages On!
The debate over a government controlled health care is certainly heating up, in particular, what it might mean in regards to the euthanasia issue. In fact, as the Senate is about to begin the debate on legislation to overhaul the nation's health care system, National Right to Life issued a press release regarding the bill recently introduced by Senate Harry Reid and a provision that would threaten life saving medical treatment (click here to read NRCL press release). In addition to this, there was a very disturbing episode recently aired on 60 Minutes (click here to watch episode): As Wesley J. Smith said in response to this episode:
[...] the push for rationing is going full steam ahead among Obamacare's allies. Latest example, 60 Minutes, always as reliable an ally of this administration as it was an implacable enemy of the last, recently broadcast a story explicitly pushing rationing by focusing on the worst case scenarios and not presenting any opposing views.
We will make sure to keep you updated on this vital health care issue and will make an effort to include stories from leading experts that have been exposing what government controlled health care might mean for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.
Don't Forget - Terri's Day 2010!
As you know, on March 31, 2005, my sister Terri was cruelly and needlessly dehydrated to death. In an effort to never forget Terri, Terri's Foundation has established "Terri's Day," which is observed every March 31, the date of Terri's death. The purpose of this day is to foster education, prayer, and activism regarding discrimination against the disabled, and advocacy for people in situations similar to what Terri and my family faced.
March 31, 2010, will be the 5-year anniversary of Terri's death. As in years past, along with Father Pavone as the main Celebrant, we will be having a mass to remember Terri, which will be held once again at the Ave Maria Oratory located on the Ave Maria campus.
Terri's Foundation will also be making an exciting announcement in the upcoming months regarding events on this very special day. So please continue to check back and click on the Terri's Day 2010 Icon to keep updated on all of the news concerning Terri's Day.
Support Terri's Foundation by Spreading the Word!
Please continue to visit Terri's Website and also help us by inviting your friends to do the same. It is vitally important to this cause that as many people as possible inform themselves regarding this dangerous and growing acceptance of imposed death on our weakest and the risks that could come along with the government taking over our health care system.
It is for these reasons that your continued support to Terri's Foundation is so critically important.
God's Blessings,
Bobby Schindler
Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
