FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Multinational Novena for Unborn Babies Seeks a "Lepanto" Response From Pro-Lifers
Memphis, Tennessee(U.S.A.) - August 10th, 2010 -
October 7th, 1571. The day of the Battle of Lepanto. Defending the Catholic side was the Holy League naval force commanded by Don Juan. On the other side, a Moslem force known as the world's mightiest navy. A loss by the Holy League would give the Moslems a big opportunity to invade Europe.Saint Pope Pius V sent out a plea to a multitude of the Church Militant: Pray the Rosary. With that, a storm of Rosaries began to flood heaven.
Finally, the day of the Battle arrived. Shortly before the fighting began, the Moslems found themselves with a huge advantage: A strong wind that was helping to push their ships toward the Christian Fleet.
Then, it happened. The direction of the wind was reversed. The Holy League's naval force now had the upper hand, and they took advantage of it.
Within an hour of the time of the Battle's end, though several hundred miles away from Lepanto, Saint Pope Pius V is said to have exclaimed: "The Christian Fleet is victorious."
His words were true. October 7th would be known for many years as Our Lady of Victory, which was later changed to Our Lady of the Rosary.
Today, the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is sending out a plea to the Church Militant throughout the world to join in the PRO-LIFE NOVENA FOR UNBORN BABIES, a September 29th through October 7th pro-life spiritual battle being held for the protection of unborn human persons. The Novena includes the following:
1) 10,000 Masses for Unborn Babies Novena - To participate, a person may contact his/her parish, a religious order, etc. and ask what needs to be done to have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered for the protection of unborn human persons on any day from Sept. 29th through Oct. 7th. (Presently, more than 150 Masses are scheduled to be offered for the unborn babies.)
2) 10,000 Rosary Novenas for Unborn Babies - To participate, a person will pray one Rosary on each day of the Novena for the protection of unborn human persons. Persons doing so will be joining more than 200 other people who have already registered.
Participants are asked to register each scheduled Mass and/or each Rosary Novena by going to the website www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org or by sending the information to: Saint Michael the Archangel Organization; P. O. Box 41257; Memphis, TN 38174; U.S.A.
"When facing a powerful enemy, Saint Pope Pius V promoted a spiritual remedy and people responded with faith," said Patrick Benedict, President of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization. "We need the same type of people today in this battle against the Culture of Death.
"No other group of human persons in the history of mankind has suffered like the unborn babies: Some one billion unborn babies have been surgically killed during the last 50 or so years(this does not include the unborn human persons who have been killed non-surgically by such things as the so-called birth control pill).
"The over-emphasis of the political to end the killing of the unborn babies needs to stop. We who are seeking to protect the unborn babies are up against the powers of hell. Therefore, this struggle should be viewed primarily as a spiritual battle.
"The unborn babies can not have Masses offered for themselves, nor can they pray Rosaries for themselves. I encourage people throughout the world to bestow an act of love on the unborn babies by doing both", concluded Benedict.
Additional information about the Novena, including a count being kept on the homepage, can be found at the website listed above or may be requested by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the mailing address above.
Within the last two years, the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization has coordinated several multinational pro-life events which have resulted in more than 3,000 Masses being offered and more than 100,000 Rosaries being prayed. The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is very appreciative of the many people who have given the Organization so much great help in various ways, including helping to promote the various pro-life events that have been coordinated.
