Dear John,
As I write this letter to you this Election Day morning, it is still dark outside. Most of the country, my family, and hopefully you are still asleep. I think about all that you and I and your SBA List staff have done to lay the groundwork for today’s election, and am so grateful. Your fidelity and sacrifices have been indispensable to creating the opportunity today’s election offers. The result is that there is potential for a great pro-life shift, a chance to save lives, in the coming Congress. At this point, it comes back to what we know well: we work as though everything is all up to us, and pray as though it is all up to God. So today we vote and pray and enjoin everyone around us to do the same. As the wise and beautiful Mallory on our staff insists: “Pray hard! And then never assume someone you know already plans on voting or knows who the pro-life candidate is!” Look back with me for a minute. Together, we lavished all our attention upon our top strategic targets. We ran bus tours, placed billboards, Google, radio and TV ads, sent mail, sent petitions, conducted polling, placed phone calls, and contributed $600,000 directly to candidates in our efforts to support 57 candidates. To fund it, we raised over $11 million, investing it in the most important races for the future of unborn children in the nation. We chose targets strategically: -
Together, we’ve endorsed a record number of strong, pro-life women for office at the top levels of government including the U.S. Senate and Governorships, and many U.S. House candidates. These women are strong. They are all possible winners tonight, and if so, will finally send the Senate a pro-life woman. With our help and firepower, they are replacing the out-dated, time tested and failed, abortion-centered model of women’s leadership.

Together, we have built and flexed the muscle of the pro-life movement, working to defeat a group of self-described “pro-life” Democrats who betrayed the unborn by voting for abortion funding in healthcare. These losses will be remembered well by any Congressman who might waver for a moment over the “yay” and “nay” on a pro-life bill comes to the Floor of Congress.
