Cause for rejoicing: Planned Parenthood-backed candidates defeated | Planned Parenthood collegiate group: science is irrelevant when it comes to abortion Making the outrageous claims that there is research showing the human heart doesn't begin to beat until 24 weeks gestation and that anyone born with an X and a Y chromosome is biologically female, among other ignoble and ignorant statements, members of Planned Parenthood collegiate group Advocates for Choice blundered their way through a debate with well-prepared pro-life advocates at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, on Oct. 20. The pro-life advocates laid out incontrovertible scientific facts proving the personhood of the preborn from the beginning of biological development. Unable to counter the arguments, the Planned Parenthood- sponsored campus group resorted to lies and renunciation of scientific fact. "Science is not ultimate truth ... Science cannot be applied to my body," the pro-abortion group claimed. "What is inside a body that cannot function outside its host is not a child ... The living, breathing, sentient being that has control over her body is the one we listen to - not science." Now the Planned Parenthood group is clamoring to have the video pulled from You Tube. I am reminded of the former CEO of Planned Parenthood in Amarillo who was fond of saying that talking to pro-life advocates like me is like talking to the Flat Earth Society. The Fort Lewis College incident proves once again that it is, instead, Planned Parenthood and its pro-abortion minions that oppose scientific evidence when it is contrary to their agenda. | Planned Parenthood sponsors "Sex on the Lawn" at University of Florida | Student leaders at Harvard to spearhead Planned Parenthood's nationwide campus campaign "This room could start the campaign amongst colleges nationwide if the group of you gathered together here worked to figure out the campaign on campus and beyond," said Gina Glantz, a former fellow at the Institute of Politics and chair of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, to a group of around 60 Harvard students gathered by Harvard Students for Choice. The students were there this week to welcome Planned Parenthood Federation of America leaders Cecile Richards and Glantz, who articulated the goal of having the Harvard students lead the way to free prescription birth control under Obamacare -- free to everyone except the taxpayers, of course, who will ultimately foot the bill when Medicaid is required to pay 100 percent for all prescription birth control for Medicaid recipients. We reported in October on how Planned Parenthood stands to make tremendous financial gains if prescription birth control is listed among the preventive health services in the health care bill. Leah Reis-Dennis, a member of the Students for Choice board, said that Harvard students have already begun the process of putting together a nationwide campaign. The Ivy League student invoked her "position of privilege" as a reason to "stand up for ... the rights and health of women who aren't in a position to advocate for themselves." It is incredulous that some of the brightest American students are so easily misled by Planned Parenthood's profit-motivated, bigoted social engineering agenda. One has to wonder whether Reis-Dennis has ever read the list of health warnings on the birth control packet insert, and if she has, how she can make such a statement with a straight face. Or whether she has considered the impact upon poor women who will not have their children to comfort and support them in their old age, because she helped spearhead the eradication of the families God generously offered them. Action: An integral part of STOPP's plan for defeating Planned Parenthood involves exposing Planned Parenthood's agenda by shouting the truth from the rooftops. One great way to do so is through letters to the editor. The editorial page is among the most widely read newspaper pages. Write a brief letter to the editor today explaining why adding birth control to the list of preventive services is wrong. Feel free to glean information from this linked article -- our report on how Planned Parenthood stands to profit from this campaign. More information about the dangers of the pill can be found on our website The Pill Kills. Forward this report to others who will take action as well. Planned Parenthood is building a network of college students and others to push its agenda for 100 per cent government and insurance payment of birth control. We must build an even stronger, more powerful network of those who will clothe themselves in prayer and resist this evil campaign. | Virginia Beach pro-lifers thank STOPP for help in fighting Planned Parenthood As the fall 2010 40 Days for Life campaign drew to a close and Virginia Beach Planned Parenthood welcomed Cecile Richards for the grand opening of its Newtown Road facility, STOPP received this report from Frances Bouton, one of the organizers of the valiant pro-life effort to Stop Planned Parenthood's aggressive expansion into the black community. Planned Parenthood Virginia Beach had their official grand opening and ribbon cutting yesterday [Oct. 27]. They began with a morning get-together and donors' lunch. Congressman Bobby Scott was in attendance... There were many well-heeled folks there. Our pro-life team was there in the morning and again in the evening. I was so thankful for all your helpful teaching to us when you visited here for the 40 Days mid rally last Feb/Mar, and also for all the ALL materials that are available. As a few of us were holding our "Planned Parenthood Steal Souls" signs, and a few more the "Face It" signs, and we were distributing as many "Why we Oppose PP" leaflets as we could, I was giving thanks to God that you and ALL had gone before us and given us the materials to fight this fight locally. Also while we don't normally have aborted baby signs at the site, I remembered that you told us that for functions such as these, it is good to bring them out. So I called one of our sidewalk counselors who had a Baby Malachi banner, and God opened the way for him to get there in time. Reports from inside the gathering indicate that PPFA President Cecile Richards took advantage of the grand opening to plug her campaign "Birth Control Matters" to get birth control added as preventive care in the health care reform bill. The mammoth building is reported to have a very expensive feel, almost like that of an art gallery, and is equipped with two operating rooms on the ground floor. As reported at other Planned Parenthood grand openings, a minister wearing a white collar prayed about the "sacred work" of Planned Parenthood. | Arizona judge rules Planned Parenthood can't block new law that forbids nurses from committing abortions A law passed in Arizona a decade ago to protect women from negligent abortionists will finally go into effect this week, following a failed attempt by Planned Parenthood of Arizona to stop its enforcement. Following the tragic death of Lou Anne Herron at the hands of abortionist John Biskind, the Arizona legislature passed a law to prevent other women from suffering the same fate. Herron bled to death from a ruptured uterus following the abortion. Biskind, for his part, earned a five-year prison sentence for manslaughter in connection with Herron's death after he left her bleeding heavily to go to a tailor shop following the abortion, without even a registered nurse present to watch over her. The law stipulates, among other things, that a doctor is the only one who can commit a surgical abortion, that he must have admitting privileges at an accredited hospital in the event of emergency complications, and that he must remain on the premises until all patients are stable and ready for discharge. (Any law that has the implied ending ... "and then you can kill the baby," no matter how well intentioned, is fatally flawed.) Planned Parenthood of Arizona, which led the charge to stop Lou Anne's law, has now suffered defeat at the hands of Maricopa County Superior Court judge Donald Daughton, who ruled Oct. 27 that Planned Parenthood waited too long to file papers to stop enforcement of the law. Planned Parenthood complained that there are not enough doctors willing to commit abortions. Planned Parenthood in Tucson has been allowing a nurse practitioner to undertake the deadly procedures since 2001. | American Life League celebrates an all time high number of on-site prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood sites American Life League is celebrating an all-time high in the number of peaceful, prayerful protests and vigils outside Planned Parenthood facilities across the country. Pro-lifers are now conducting 279 vigils at 203 Planned Parenthood facilities in 40 states and Washington, D.C. according to data collected by ALL and displayed on the ALL Map Room. Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest abortion chain, and there are now regular prayer vigils at 1 of every 4 Planned Parenthood facilities in the United States. The interactive Map Room, part of ALL's Stop Planned Parenthood International project, encourages physical presence outside Planned Parenthood facilities, tracks protests and prayer vigils and provides information on times, locations and contact persons. The efforts listed in the Map Room are coordinated by each local community. As the national group focused on grassroots efforts to defeat Planned Parenthood, American Life League brings the data together to encourage pro-lifers all across the country to engage in peaceful, prayerful protest at every local Planned Parenthood facility, and to bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary, to defeat the abortion giant once and for all. As the Fall 2010 40 Days for Life campaign ends, we encourage pro-lifers to keep the peaceful, prayerful presence going at Planned Parenthood facilities. A cornucopia of good has been accomplished, and God has so much more in store for us if we will persevere. | Cause for rejoicing: Planned Parenthood-backed candidates defeated The American people soundly defeated the great majority of candidates backed by Planned Parenthood in the mid-term elections, in what has been termed a tsunami of voter discontent with the current administration and its policies. Planned Parenthood endorsed and stumped for pro-abortion candidates across the country, and used scare tactics to try to convince voters that those who oppose their agenda want to throw women in jail for having abortions. One of the best ways to defeat Planned Parenthood is by electing pro-life officials at every level of government, and holding them accountable once they are in office. America took a huge step forward yesterday in electing those who have pledged to uphold the right to life of the preborn. | Support STOPP STOPP INTERNATIONAL is totally supported by free-will donations from concerned people.
