One Year Until Voters Can Defeat Pro-Abortion Barack Obama
As Americans head to the polls in numerous states today for off-year elections, pro-life advocates are looking forward to the fact that, as of this past weekend, there is one year left until they can vote out pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, is one of those pro-life activists who is ready to replace the man who many consider to be the most pro-abortion president the nation has had since the infamous 1973 Supreme Court decisions allowing virtually unlimited abortions.

One year from today, I know that at this very moment I ll most likely either be on my knees in prayer or huddled around a computer with my staff watching results from key battleground states come in, Dannenfelser says. You see, exactly one year from today is Election Day.

That means we re either one year away from finally putting a stop to the Obama administration s deadly assault on unborn children and their mothers One year until we can usher in authentic pro-life champions to the White House and Congress leaders who will fight for laws to protect our country s most innocent lives, Dannenfelser added. Or, we could be one year away from a massive loss that would set the pro-life cause back for generations. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/one-year-until-voters-can-defeat-pro-abortion-barack-obama/

Personhood Amendment in Mississippi Likely Won t Ban Abortion
Voters in Mississippi head to the polls today to consider Initiative 26, a statewide personhood amendment that would define unborn children as persons under the law starting at the point of conception. However, prior Supreme Court case law makes it appear the amendment will do nothing to ban or even limit abortions.

Much of the debate surrounding the measure has been confined to whether the personhood amendment would ban birth control (it would not) or abortions. While Planned Parenthood has clearly misled Mississippi voters as to whether the measure would ban non-abortifacient birth control, the pro-life supporters of the personhood amendment who have been informing state residents that it will ban abortion or end abortion are not presenting the full story.

The full text of the amendment reads: Be it enacted by the People of the State of Mississippi: SECTION 1: Article III of the constitution of the state of Mississippi is hereby amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION TO READ: SECTION 33: Person defined. As used in this Article III of the state constitution, The term person or persons shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning, or the functional equivalent thereof.

Assuming the amendment is approved and assuming it does not succumb to state legal challenges from those who say the Mississippi Bill of Rights can t be amended via the initiative method, the personhood amendment will not ban abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/personhood-amendment-in-mississippi-likely-wont-ban-abortion/

Federal Appeals Court Rules Obamacare Constitutional
In another of the many split decisions at the federal appeals court level setting up a battle at the Supreme Court, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 in favor of ObamaCare s individual mandate.

The mandate requires Americans to purchase health insurance and pro-life groups opposed Obamacare because that insurance could fund abortions, not provide protection for pro-life medical workers, and may promote rationing.

Despite acknowledging discomfort with the government s inability to suggest meaningful limits on congressional power under its interpretation of the Commerce Clause, Reagan appointee Lawrence Silberman admitted that any limits on congressional power to control or compel commerce are not apparent to members of the court s majority, either.

The Government concedes the novelty of the mandate and the lack of any doctrinal limiting principles; indeed, at oral argument, the Government could not identify any mandate to purchase a product or service in interstate commerce that would be unconstitutional, at least under the Commerce Clause. But the Government does stress that the health care market is factually unique; there are few other markets, it says, where participation is a virtual certainty, or where declining to buy a product disproportionately causes a national economic problem, the ruling says. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/federal-appeals-court-rules-obamacare-constitutional/

Sebelius-Planned Parenthood Record-Shredding Scandal Gets Worse
Open records received by Operation Rescue from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment raise more questions than they answer about the recent revelation that documents containing critical evidence against Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri were shredded under the Sebelius Administration.

Operation Rescue asked the agency for a broad range of documents and communications between KDHE and Planned Parenthood and/or the office of former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who now serves as President Obama s Secretary of Health and Human Services.

KDHE provided a scant number of documents reflecting an e-mail request from Planned Parenthood s Sheila Kostas asking for information listed on Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) forms was made on August 10, 2005. The records show that KDHE s Greg Crawford complied with the request the following day.

This exchange was revealing because of the informal way Kostas and Crawford addressed each other, and the speediness of the answer from KDHE concerning TOP information. It shows a friendly, working relationship that has some apparent history, said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. Contrast that with the hostility expressed by KDHE in responding to an investigation by a pro-life Attorney General s office, and we have a troubling bias and motivation for evidence destruction. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/sebelis-planned-parenthood-record-shredding-scandal-gets-worse/

State of Same: Eugenics Still Drives the Abortion Industry
NBC s Rock Center with Brian Williams produced an incredible and moving news feature, State of Shame , on the horrific and racist eugenics practice of forced sterilizations. The story centered on a central figure in the MAAFA21 documentary, Elaine Riddick, a black woman who was forcibly sterilized after being raped at age 13.

I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Elaine and serving on a panel about abortion and eugenics targeting the black community, which is the heart of our TooManyAborted.com campaigns. She s a remarkable and passionate individual, stripped of part of her humanity by a racist ideology that continues today through its main perpetrator Planned Parenthood.

Brian Williams begins the disturbing segment declaring: Most Americans would agree that government has a lot to learn from that physicians [Hippocratic] oath to do no harm . It s tougher to explain this doctors and government officials conspiring on a project so horrible, it is hard to believe it happened in our country and not that long ago. We have a story here, tonight, about cruelty in the name of science and about the government, in effect, trying to play God.

I applaud NBC s Brian Williams and producer Ami Schmitz for telling Elaine s story. She s one of over 66,000 people forced to lose their God-given procreative ability to bring forth new life, simply because eugenicists determined these individuals were unfit .

But, Mr. Williams the horror continues today under the guise of choice . http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/state-of-same-eugenics-still-drives-the-abortion-industry/

Pregnancy Center Opens Next Door to Planned Parenthood
In Idaho, Brandi Swindell and local pro-life advocates have opened a new pregnancy center next door to a Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Stanton Healthcare Services has opened to prevent teen pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and to provide women facing an unplanned pregnancy with life-affirming options in an environment that promotes physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

We believe that all life is created with an intrinsic value. We are motivated to uphold the dignity of women and the lives of their children. Stanton Healthcare provides broad-based services to the women and men experiencing an unexpected pregnancy in an environment that upholds physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Stanton Healthcare Services also promotes sexual integrity and gives assistance to those struggling emotionally or physically from previous abortion or pregnancy loss, the pregnancy center says in its website.

Swindell talks about the new pregnancy center in a YouTube video. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/pregnancy-center-opens-next-door-to-planned-parenthood/

180 Movie Given to Thousands of High School Students
The producers of the popular pro-life movie 180 gave thousands of copies of the DVD of the abortion film to high school students following a day last month where volunteers gave out hundreds of copies to college students across the United States.

A free DVD of the award-winning viral movie 180, which has received nearly 1.5 million views online, went to students in southern California. The movie opens with 14 people (mainly college students) who have no idea of the identity of Adolf Hitler and it has Jewish author Ray Comfort talk with them about comparisons between the Holocaust and the travesty of 54 million abortions in the United States.

Late last month, between 180,000 and 200,000 copies of the 33-minute DVD were given out at 100 of America s top universities, and now the Jewish author and TV co-host is turning his attention to high schools.

We just gave out 1500 copies of an award-winning controversial Holocaust/Abortion movie to three high schools in Southern California despite protest from school authorities, who called the police, Comfort told LifeNews. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/180-movie-given-to-thousands-of-high-school-students/

Incompatible with Life: Supporting Expectant Parents
Every day, parents face hard choices big and small: Whether to send their children to private or public school; whether to allow them to watch certain shows or turn off the television. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/incompatible-with-life-supporting-expectant-parents/

Woman Who Refused Abortion Killed by Father of Unborn Baby
Although abortion proponents always describe abortion as a woman s choice, statistics show that women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy are often coerced by the men in their lives to abort. One study found that 64% of women who have abortions feel that they have been coerced by their partners. (1) In the most tragic and extreme cases, women who refuse abortions become the targets of violence. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/woman-who-refused-abortion-killed-by-father-of-unborn-baby/

An Economic Case for More Kids? No Population Control Needed
Bryan Caplan s latest book argues that we don t need to over-invest time and money on our kids, because our lasting influence on their characters is negligible, while their contribution to our material well-being is significant. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/an-economic-case-for-more-kids-no-population-control-needed/

European Court: Forcibly Sterilizing Women Against Human Rights
Today the European Court of Human Rights delivered its judgment on the V. C. v. Slovakia case (no. 18968/07), founding a violation of article 3 and 8 (prohibition of inhuman and degrading treatment and right to respect for private and family life) of the Convention and considering that it is not necessary to examine separately the complaint under article 12 (right to marry and to found a family) of the Convention. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/08/european-court-forcibly-sterilizing-women-against-human-rights/
