HEADLINES | | Abortion worker who let 15-year-old daughter work at 'House of Horrors' clinic pleads guilty Life Site News Yet another employee from Philadelphia's infamous "House of Horrors" abortion clinic has pleaded guilty - this time to charges of participating in a corrupt organization, conspiracy and corruption of a minor, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The corruption of a minor charge stems from the fact that Tina Baldwin had allowed her fifteen-year-old daughter to work at the facility, owned and operated by Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Baldwin is the sixth employee of Gosnell's to plead guilty: four of these have pleaded guilty to murder charges. | Catholic college sues over contraception mandate NCR Belmont Abbey College is suing the federal government over a new regulation that requires employer health insurance plans to provide free coverage of contraceptives and sterilization, even if it may be contrary to their religious beliefs. The civil lawsuit was filed Nov. 10 in U.S. District Court in Washington by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a Washington-based nonprofit, public-interest law firm that is representing the Catholic liberal arts college in Belmont. In its lawsuit, Belmont Abbey College argues that the contraception regulation forces it to violate its religious beliefs or pay a severe fine. Named in the suit are the federal departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury and their respective heads: Secretaries Kathleen Sebelius, Hilda Solis and Timothy Geithner. | Agency plans to shut down Jeff City office Columbia Daily Tribune Jefferson City's Planned Parenthood center is closing and will consolidate its services with the Columbia office. Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri announced that the Jefferson City center, now open two days a week, will close Nov. 30. Services will continue at the Columbia office with the same staff and expanded hours, according to a news release. |
