Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

40 Days For Life: DAY 28: Planned Parenthood and the Coronavirus

I want to introduce our new daily video blog. Today, I cover the difficult decision to suspend the vigil and Planned Parenthood's response to the pandemic:

As the Coronavirus crisis worsens, heroic doctors and nurses are risking their lives working countless hours to fight the pandemic.

At the same time, public health officials warn of a looming shortage in medical supplies, equipment, and facilities.

But Planned Parenthood refuses to lend a hand.

Abortion businesses in Ohio even defied a state order to cancel non-essential surgeries.

That means doctors, nurses, supplies, equipment and facilities that could be used to save lives from Coronavirus are instead being used to end lives, $400 at a time.

Meanwhile, women hospitalized during a botched abortion will compete with COVID-19 victims for a limited supply of hospital beds.

While abortions continue around the world, I made the difficult decision to suspend public 40 Days for Life vigils.

This wasn't an easy call--but it was the right one at this time.

In this new video, I discuss how we decided ending our public presence in front of abortion facilities as well as the abortion industry's shameful decision to keep performing abortions.

While the public 40 Days for Life vigil has been canceled, we'll continue to share stories from the vigil's first 26 days.

Little Rock, Arkansas

Marsha and Sharon could tell something was up when abortion workers scrambled to move their cars away from the abortion facility's back door.

Before long, an abortion client was loaded into an ambulance.

Earlier that morning, vigil participants warned the man who accompanied the woman to the abortion facility that abortion is not safe for the mom, but he made it clear he wasn't interested in talking.

Please keep this mother and child in prayer!

Riverside, California

Vigil participants in Southern California had a similar experience when an ambulance and a firetruck arrived to Planned Parenthood in Riverside.

Manchester, England

When an ambulance arrived at a Manchester abortion facility, a 40 Days for life volunteer reported that abortion workers spent significant time directing an ambulance driver to block the view of pro-lifers.

"[Abortion facility staff] seemed a lot more concerned with positioning the ambulance so nothing was visible rather than ensuring that the ambulance and paramedics could carry out their work efficiently," said a vigil participant who witnessed the ordeal.

Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.

O God, our heavenly Father, give us courage and wisdom as we seek to eradicate the evil in our society.

Help us to realize that Your divine Spirit alone can change hearts and minds so that all Your human creatures may enjoy the fullness of life You intended for them.
