40 Days For Life: DAY 5: ¡Cerrado! (Closed!)

Last September, Hugo in Mexico City launched a 40 Days for Life vigil in front of the Dalia & Gaia abortion center. His prayers were answered almost immediately as traffic to the facility declined, and vigil participants confirmed a baby had been saved from abortion. By day 13 of the campaign, all the equipment and furniture was removed from the building. Hugo and his team waited to celebrate--watching to make sure the facility wasn't simply moving or remodeling... ...but now it's official: the Dalia & Gaia abortion facility is the 106th abortion center to go out of business following a 40 Days for Life campaign!

Earlier this week, the building owner allowed 40 Days for Life participants to tour the building and to have it blessed. The end of abortions at Dalia & Gaia hit home for one new 40 Days for Life participant--literally. It was his family's home for 50 years before it was sold. "We never thought that it would be used to kill babies," the volunteer said. "I thank 40 Days for Life for what it has done!"

Salt Lake City, Utah 40 Days for Life vigils defend the family, which is increasingly under attack from a hostile culture. But sometimes 40 Days for Life vigils do more than defend families--they also start families! "This engaged couple began dating after meeting during a 40 Days campaign!" wrote James in Salt Lake City. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Local 40 Days for Life leaders have reported that kickoff event attendance has gone through the roof this year. More than 600 pro-lifers gathered at Pittsburgh's Epiphany Church to open the campaign. Many attendees then marched to Planned Parenthood to continue praying.
