One of my favorite Pro-Life groups that I belonged to in New York, when I was an active Pro-Lifer, was the Helpers of God's Precious Infants. Every Saturday (some weekdays too) we would gather at the local abortion mill to pray and counsel the young girls and their men, who were entering that horrible place to kill their babies. Of course we were very peaceful and most of us held some sign showing aborted babies. We prayed Rosaries, Litanies, sang hymns. Msgr. Reilly was our spiritual director and after, when the mill was closing for the day, we would return to Father's church, where he celebrated Mass for us. It was always a great joy when we were told how many of the girls decided to keep their babies or just went home to think it over because of our presence. Some of the girls even came to thank us and some had their baby baptized by Father. Yes, there were trying times, especially when we were threatened by the pro-aborts, called nasty names, spit upon, confronted face to face, but mostly everyone kept their cool. One day one of the pro-abort people accused me of pushing them to the police, who were always there sitting in the squad car. It was very upsetting to me that someone would just lie like that, but the police didn't do anything cause it was his word against mine. But I think about and pray for all the Pro-lifers who have gone to jail defending the unborn!
So, if you haven't prayed with a group in front of a clinic yet, why don't you try it? It's very rewarding and you will be saving lives, the babies and the mothers. Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta said that when a women has an abortion, two people are killed; the baby and the mother. Of course she was talking about the salvation of that woman's soul. May God have mercy on their souls!
