Subject: Tremendous News!
Hello Everyone,
With great joy, I can now positively confirm that Walter was released from Santa Rita Jail yesterday, April 7th at 12:45 p.m. This news has been spreading like wildfire on the Pro-Life news and websites, but we didn't want to release this information until we had official confirmation.
We knew last week that Walter was to be released today, April 8th, but did not want to mention this until it actually happened. So, the news today of Walter's release on Tuesday caught us off guard, but we are overjoyed!
I just got off the phone with the jail and spoke to one of the Sheriffs. He confirmed Walter's release from Santa Rita Jail. I told the Sherriff that we were very happy to receive this news!
Ed Hopfner of the Walk for Life Committee did manage to speak with Walter today after making about 8 phone calls! Ed reports:
"He's laying very low right now - getting his health back. Then Lori is going to take him 'away' (somewhere unknown) after Easter for several days. So he is a little tired, weak, excited, thrilled to be out, grateful, amazed at the work God did in the jail, amazed at the conditions in the jail, full of plans for the Bishop (I think he got him to agree to / promise about six things...)"
We will respect the Hoyes' privacy during this time as Walter rests up and begins to recover from this whole experience.
