A student from Madonna University forwarded to us an email written by Madonna’s president, alerting the campus minister that the Planned Parenthood speaker was cancelled. The email is dated February 6, two days after we raised initial concern about the speaker. President Sister Kujawa’s email reads:
I wanted to inform you as soon as possible that there will be no speaker from Planned Parenthood at Madonna University(including the Orchard Lake or any other MU extension). You can share this with our Campus Ministry students. I am sure this will bring relief to their parents as well. Thank you for your prayers.

Update 2/7/2011: Since The Cardinal Newman Society blogged last week that a Planned Parenthood employee was slated to speak at Madonna University, we have learned from Madonna’s president that they have cancelled the speaker.
Kudos to Madonna and President Sr. Rose Marie Kujawa, CSSF for defending their Catholic identity!
