Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

NARAL Blasts 2012 Republicans for Pro-Life Abortion Views
Leading pro-abortion group NARAL released a report today on the Republican presidential hopefuls and the organization says essentially all of the Republican presidential candidates are pro-life on abortion.
With the exception of former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is not regarded as a likely presidential contender, none of the 15 Republicans who are running or have hinted at a bid for the GOP nomination are acceptable to NARAL. That confirms, for pro-life voters, that the field is made up of pro-life advocates who have track records supporting pro-life bills and laws and who would represent a marked changed from the extensive pro-abortion policies President Barack Obama has implemented during his tenure in the White House.
NARAL has identified the 12 most prominent potential contenders as presenting what it calls a threat to women s access to abortion and family-planning services.
NARAL Communications Director Ted Miller, in a press briefing today, told reporters, As the campaign evolves and one of these candidates emerges, we will be comparing his or her [record on abortion rights] to Baa s. This first look at the candidates comes just days before the Iowa straw poll that will take place in Ames.
Melissa Moskowitz, deputy policy director and general counsel for the group added that NARAL believes all of the Republican candidates are anti-choice. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/naral-blasts-20120-republicans-for-pro-life-abortion-views/
Perry Challenged to Back Federal Amdt Stopping Abortions
This week, Texas governor and potential Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry took a states rights position on abortion saying states should have the ability to ban abortions. Now, a pro-life organization is challenging him to go a step further by endorsing a federal Constitutional amendment that would offer legal protection for unborn children.
As LifeNews reported, Perry told ABC News about the need for the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision to be reversed and for states to be able to protect unborn children, saying, You either have to believe in the 10th Amendment or you don t.
You can t believe in the 10th Amendment for a few issues and then [for] something that doesn t suit you say, We d rather not have states decide that, he added.
Today, Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser responded to these statements. She pointed out that Perry, at a recent event for pro-life Hispanics in Los Angeles, said, Somehow, the folks in Washington have forgotten, or chosen to ignore, the overriding responsibility of every government: to protect citizens at every stage in life, especially those who cannot protect themselves.
Dannenfelser told LifeNews she appreciate s Perry s pro-life convictions and abortion opposition, but wants him to understand that support for a federal role in protecting unborn children is important. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/perry-challenged-to-back-federal-amdt-stopping-abortions/

Polls Show Obama s Popular Support at Historic Low Levels
New polling data from multiple sources shows pro-abortion President Barack Obama hitting his lowest levels of support at any time point in his presidency.
Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president and its results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults. The new Gallup survey out today shows 50 percent of Americans disapprove of the job Obama is doing while just 40 percent approve.
Obama hit a 50 percent disapproval level in Gallup s survey just once in August 2010 and his approval rating has never dropped to 40 percent before.
The numbers come before today s difficult economic news showing GDP rising lower than expected and the Dow dropping significantly on the news. The survey also is conducted with only adults rather than registered or likely voters and polls using voters or those most likely to turn out for an election typically show better numbers for Republicans. That makes it so Obama s numbers may be worse off than the meager 40 percent approval rating he received from Gallup.
The Gallup survey follows a late July poll of 1,500 registered voters by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press that finds support for Obama among independents has fallen from 42 percent in May to 31 percent while his disapproval with them has shot up to 54 percent. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/polls-show-obamas-popular-support-at-historic-low-levels/
Appeals Court Upholds Pro-Life Pastor s Free Speech Rights
The liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a unanimous 3-0 decision late yesterday in a case involving pro-life pastor Walter Hoye and Oakland s denial of his free speech rights in the context of abortion.
Hoye, a pastor who has highlighted the problem of high abortion rates in the African-American community, saw his rights to provide abortion alternatives information to women outside local abortion facilities denied when Oakland city officials passed the buffer law preventing him, or any pro-life advocate, from coming within 8 feet of the abortion center or women heading to it.
In issuing the opinion in Hoye v. Oakland, the appeals court agreed with the Life Legal Defense Foundation, a pro-life law firm representing Hoye, in seeing the ordinance as an unconstitutional infringement of free speech. We agree with Hoye that there are grave constitutional problems with the manner in which the City has understood and enforced its Ordinance, the court, led by Circuit Judge Marsha S. Berzon, wrote.
The court reversed the district court s determination that the ordinance is valid as the city applies it, because the City discriminates in enforcing the ordinance against Hoye but not other speakers. The City only prosecutes persons for approaching women within the bubble zone if they are trying to persuade the woman not to have the abortion while abortion center staffers and others facilitating abortions can approach and give the women whatever message they want often urging women to ignore Hoye. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/appeals-court-upholds-pro-life-pastors-free-speech-rights/

Ignore Man Behind Curtain, Planned Parenthood is About Abortion
Margaret Sanger, founder of what is now today s Planned Parenthood Federation of America, made no secret about her reasons for wanting to expand the availability of birth control and abortions in the United States. In her book Birth Control Review, Sanger explains that the purpose of birth control was to create a race of thoroughbreds.
She was a staunch advancer of the cause to create a perfect race of people. She believed the only way to accomplish her goal was to prohibit, or at least discourage, certain groups of people which she called, human beings who never should have been born, from reproducing. Sanger saw birth control and abortion as the most effective means of accomplishing her goals, and thus Planned Parenthood was born (no pun intended).
For decades, Planned Parenthood has branded itself as an organization primarily concerned with women s access to safe and affordable health care as opposed to revealing openly to the public its abortion centered business model. For decades the organization has been telling the public, Sure, we do abortions, but mostly we are a low-cost health clinic. This attempt to direct people s attention to something positive the organization claims it is doing reminds me of something
The great and powerful Oz.
The man behind the curtain that convinces Dorothy and her trio of friends that he is going to grant them all the things they came to ask of him, as it turned out, was not the wizard he fools all of Oz into thinking he is. He was only a mortal man using deceptive trickery to fool the world into seeing what he wanted them to see.
In much the same way, Planned Parenthood s abortion driven agenda is really the force or the man behind the curtain leading the organization; it is not the pro-woman mantra they simply use as a tool of disguise. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/ignore-man-behind-curtain-planned-parenthood-is-about-abortion/
Planned Parenthood Webcam Abortion Safety Study Not Credible
Planned Parenthood recently released information to the media that researchers said Planned Parenthood s webcam abortions were safe. The research is not credible as it comes from a radical abortion activist group called Ibis Reproductive Health, which focuses on promoting medication abortions (also known as RU-486 or chemical abortions.)
Who is Ibis Reproductive Health? Ibis a radical abortion activist group.
Ibis focuses on promotion of medication abortions:
Ibis #1 accomplishment listed on their website is: Expanding access to medication abortion. According to the Ibis website, Ibis founder Charlotte Ellertson had a special focus on emergency contraception and medication abortion and was instrumental in achieving the regulatory, clinical and policy changes that made these methods more widely available to women around the world. Catholics for Ron Paul Effort Supports His Pro-Life Stance
Congressman Ron Paul s presidential campaign announced today a new effort oriented towards gaining the support of catholic Republicans in his bid for the GOP nomination to face pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
Paul has been organized both nationally and in leading primary and caucus states like Iowa and New Hampshire and his pro-life views on abortion go along with his fiscally conservative views to attract a core following of supporters. His backers hope to add to it with Catholic voters by emphasizing his longstanding pro-life voting record and views as a physician who is pro-life.
The coalition aims to recruit national political, community and opinion leaders who identify both as Catholics and Ron Paul supporters.
To a devout Catholic, or any person of faith, the fact that Ron Paul s political positions are unwavering is appealing and admirable, said Matt DeVries, who serves on the Catholics for Ron Paul national advisory board.
Dr. Paul s record on the sanctity of life cannot be questioned. I appreciate that he offers pro-life advocates new ways of thinking on this important issue, such as through affirming states rights, DeVries, who serves as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 10282 out of All Saints Catholic Church in Des Moines, continued. DeVries is also a Ron Paul campaign co-chairman for Iowa s 3rd congressional district. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/29/catholics-for-ron-paul-effort-supports-his-pro-life-stance/

The Persecution of the Church
This week's column is by Monsignor Ignacio Human Life International.
For Media Inquiries: Stephen Phelan 540-622-5270
The Persecution of the Church For some years we have seen worldwide a mounting persecution against the Catholic Church. We have countries that have penalized the teaching of Catholic Doctrine on homosexual conduct as crime, claiming that such preaching leads to discrimination against those who have a homosexual inclination or practice this type of conduct. Recently the Irish governmentproposed legislation under which priests could face up to five years in prison for failure to disclose sexual crimes against minors if the crimes were brought up in sacramental confession. It is sad to note that it is the Irish government and not a foreign colonial power that is returning Ireland to the time of the Penal Laws that persecuted Catholics and the Catholic Church. In Australia the independent Senator Nicholas Xenophon petitioned to make it a crime for priests to refuse to reveal cases of sexual abuse disclosed in the confessional. At the time of writing this article, the proposal of Senator Xenophon has not been backed by any of the mayor parties of Australia, but nevertheless it constitutes a dangerous precedent because it is explicitly linked with the Irish proposal. It should be evident that these two legislative proposals, or any other that would try to force a priest to break in any way the seal of confession, constitute a fundamental attack on the objective freedom of the Church to function in accordance with the will of Jesus Christ. It is an objective attack against the rights of God. These proposals also constitute a gross violation of the right of the people to practice their religion, and as a consequence, they attack the God-given freedom to the full exercise of religion. If these proposals were to become law, we have the certainty that almost all priests will refuse to obey them, and potentially open themselves to legal prosecution simply for having the integrity to adhere to the duties of the priesthood. The standard of secrecy protecting a confession outweighs any form of professional confidentiality, such as doctor-patient or lawyer-client relationships.. This type of confidentiality can have exceptions in certain special cases, but the secrecy of the seal of confession is absolute and never has exceptions. When a person confesses his sins to a priest in the Sacrament of Penance, a very sacred trust is formed. The priest must maintain absolute and total secrecy about anything that a person confesses. For this reason, confessionals were developed with screens or as cubicles inserted into church walls to protect the anonymity of the penitent, and so that no one can overhear the confession. Due to the absolute nature of the seal of confession a priest cannot break it to save his own life, to protect his good name, to refute a false accusation, to save the life of another, to aid the course of justice (like reporting a crime), or to avert a public catastrophe. The sacramental seal is referred to briefly but forcefully in the ritual, "Conscious that he has come to know the secret of another's conscience only because he is God's minister, the confessor is bound by the obligation of preserving the seal of confession absolutely unbroken." A direct violation of the seal, one in which the penitent's identity is revealed, is punished by an automatic excommunication of the priest, with remission of the penalty reserved to the Apostolic See. (C.C.L. c. 1388, 1) In the law of the Church, no distinctions are made among the matters confessed, whether the act is sinful in itself or the surrounding circumstances, or in the acts of reparation of penance that have been imposed to the penitent. So we need to underline that the secrecy concerns whatever has been communicated in confession, and it is total and absolute. Indeed, many priests that have died as martyrs of the seal of confession. First and foremost is the emblematic case of St. John Nepomucene, who suffered martyrdom in Prague in the year 1393. He was the confessor of the Queen, Joanna. Her husband, King Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia, had suspicions about her fidelity, demanding from Fr. Nepomucene that he disclose the sins she confessed, which the priest categorically refused. So the King condemned the priest to be thrown into the River Moldau, which flows through Prague. There is also the case of Father Felipe Ciscar Puig, a Spanish priest who was martyred during the terrible persecution of 1936 for protecting the seal of confession. He heard the confession of a fellow priest who was in prison with him. His jailers tried to get him to reveal the sins of the priest, and because he refused he was killed after a mock trial. We have also the case of Fr Francis Vernon Douglas, a missionary in The Philippines that was tortured to death by the Japanese during the Second World War for refusing to violate the seal of confession. These proposed laws not only are unjust, but are also impossible to apply if the confession is received in the traditional way - through a grate and a veil. In this case the penitent remains anonymous and it is physically impossible for a confessor to attach the sins to a particular person, because his identity remains unknown. These laws may very well also have unintended and negative side effects, as Irish journalist David Quinn, points out, "No child abuser will go to a priest in confession knowing the priest is required to inform the police. But cutting off the avenue of confession to a child abuser makes it less likely that he will talk to someone who can persuade him to take the next step." Forcing a priest to disclose what has occurred in the confessional is also a very dangerous step for a free society. It effectively makes every priest an agent of the State, and as a consequence it quickly paves the path towards a totalitarian state in which the government feels entitled to know about any private conversation whatsoever.d.
Sincerely yours in Christ, Monsignor Ignacio Barreiro-CarĂ¡mbula

Hillary Clinton Opposes State Dept Bill Over Abortion $ Cuts
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is warning members of the U.S. House that she will personally urge pro-abortion President Barack Obama to veto a State Department funding bill over cuts to groups that perform and promote abortions.
As LifeNews has reported, House Republicans have put forward an appropriations bill that would put the Mexico City Policy back in place. The policy, which President Barack Obama ditched during his first week in office, prevents the funding of groups that promote or perform abortions overseas.
Planned Parenthood is one of the major recipients of millions of dollars through the State Department and the USAID program and the abortion business refused to stop doing abortions or lobbying other nations to change their pro-life laws during the Bush administration so it could receive funds for non-abortion family planning services. The abortion business is lobbying Congress to reject the bill and Clinton took its side today.
Clinton, in the letter, according to CNN, called the bill debilitating to my efforts to carry out a considered foreign policy and diplomacy and said she will recommend personally that Obama veto the bill. She addressed the letter to pro-life Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Florida Republican who is the chair of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Clinton listed a number of onerous provisions in the bill on unrelated political issues, but included the reinstatement and expansion of the Mexico City Policy as one of those provisions she opposes. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/hillary-clinton-opposes-state-dept-bill-over-abortion-cuts/
Paperwork Mistake Costs Ohio Planned Parenthood $5 Million
The Cincinnati, Ohio Planned Parenthood abortion business cost itself more than $5 million in taxpayer funds thanks to an incomplete application. The result may be fitting given that it has covered up cases of sexual abuse of minors.
Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region lost $5.05 million in federal and state grants that it could have received over the next five years, according to the Dayton Daily News. The abortion business tells the newspaper it will now have to start charging people for non-abortion services, rather than cutting out abortions and providing them at no cost.
Laurie Housemeyer, director of public affairs for Planned Parenthood, told the News that the taxpayer funding represented 12 percent of its annual budget, but it was notified this month that its improper application cost it funds. A state health department official said the application received a low score because it was incomplete.
That is hard to believe, Housemeyer said. We have a very thorough and qualified grant writer.
The loss of federal funding comes after the abortion business also recently lost its CEO Becki Brenner, though Housemeyer said the two are not related. She indicated the abortion agency would try to make up for the funding loss with private donations but said the abortion business, which employs 90 people, will not cut staff or close any locations.
Paula Westwood, Executive Director of Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati commented on the news and said other options exist for women who want the same services Planned Parenthood provides but without supporting an abortion organization. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/paperwork-mistake-costs-ohio-planned-parenthood-5-million/

Planned Parenthood Abortion Practitioner Loses Medical License
An abortion practitioner who works on a contract basis for Planned Parenthood in California has had his medical licensed suspended by the California Medical Board and he now faces a hearing before an administrative judge on August 2.
Jesse James Joplin has worked for the Planned Parenthood abortion business for 27 years, but the California Catholic Daily indicates the Medical Board issued an interim suspension order July 25 making it so his days as a supervising physician at Planned Parenthood-Mar Monte in San Jose may be over.
The state medical board, months ago, cracked down on Joplin over a series of alcohol-related convictions over the last few years starting with a California Highway Patrol officer finding marijuana and alcohol in his vehicle during a 2007 traffic stop for speeding. Joplin pleaded no contest, according to the newspaper, on charges of reckless driving involving alcohol, drugs, or both.
Joplin was again arrested after his erratic driving prompted motorists to call authorities in September 2009 and a March 2010 incident resulted in a misdemeanor conviction of drunken driving and he reportedly chose to go to jail rather than perform community service.
The medical board reportedly took its initial actions against Joplin on April 22 but also issued a stay of its decision and placed Joplin on probation for seven years. Cal Catholic indicates that the decision at the time made it so, if Joplin violated any of the conditions of his probationary status, his medical license would be suspended. Those conditions included complete abstention from drugs and alcohol, random urine testing four times monthly, a psychiatric evaluation, monitoring from an independent physician, and relinquishing his role as a supervising doctor. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/planned-parenthood-abortion-practitioner-loses-medical-license/
Senate Committee Skips Vote on Pro-Abortion Judge Steve Six
The Senate Judiciary Committee today skipped a vote on pro-abortion federal appeals court judicial nominee Steve Six, an abortion advocate President Barack Obama wants to place on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The chairman of the committee, pro-abortion Sen, Pat Leahy of Vermont, had intended to bring up Six for a vote, but some last-minute wrangling from Six home state senators, pro-life Sens. Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran, appeared to stall the nomination. Although President Barack Obama would have to withdraw the nomination for it to be officially scrubbed, it appears the repeated planning and reversal of votes on Six is an indication that Six s nomination is not going forward.
Roberts and Moran sent Leahy a letter that, according to an AP report, is only coming to light today. The two have faced calls and emails from pro-life groups asking them to oppose Six because he stalled an investigation into the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Whereas we have previously stated our opposition to this nomination, we are respectfully requesting that the Committee not process this nominee, the Kansas senators wrote. We appreciate and respect the committee process in vetting all federal court nominees. We regret that we cannot support Mr. Six. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/senate-committee-skips-vote-on-pro-abortion-judge-steve-six/

North Carolina Overrides Perdue Veto, Pro-Life Bill Becomes Law
The North Carolina state Senate completed the bid to overturn a veto by pro-abortion Gov. Bev Perdue of a bill that would allow women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn children.
North Carolina lawmakers have approved legislation to help women avoid abortions and the bill includes the ultrasound provision and a waiting period. The measure helps women obtain information about abortion s risks and alternatives they may not otherwise receive before an abortion. The bill also allows women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn baby, something abortion centers routinely do but don t let women see.
The measure, which also has a 24-hour waiting period component, is designed to help women find positive abortion alternatives. The Woman s Right to Know bill, H 854, is similar to legislation other states have passed and is proven to reduce abortions. When women are given information about abortion that Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses don t routinely provide, they frequently consider alternatives.
The House voted 72-47 in favor of the veto override and the Senate followed suit today by voting 29-19 as Sen. Stan Bingham, a Republican who voted against the bill in June, left the building before the override vote. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/north-carolina-overrides-perdue-veto-pro-life-bill-becomes-law/
Rick Perry: States Should Have the Right to Ban Abortions
Texas Gov. Rick Perry restated his views against abortion late Wednesday when he firmed up his position favoring the 10th Amendment when it comes to abortion. Perry is a strong states rights advocate and believes states should be able to ban abortions.
You either have to believe in the 10th Amendment or you don t, Perry told reporters Wednesday night, according to ABC News. You can t believe in the 10th Amendment for a few issues and then [for] something that doesn t suit you say, We d rather not have states decide that.
Although the 10th Amendment says The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people, the Supreme Court issued a decision in 1973 in the Roe v. Wade case saying that state laws prohibiting abortions could no longer be enforced. The Roe case came out of Texas and involved a pro-abortion attorney, Sarah Weddington, who turned Norma McCorvey s lawsuit seeking a divorce into a case establishing legalized abortion. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/rick-perry-states-should-have-the-right-to-ban-abortions/
British National Health Service Extends Rationing to Surgeries
The National Health Service in England is increasingly rationing standard operations that patients may have normally taken for granted in a move that worries bioethicists in the United States.
A new report in The Independent reveals how hip replacements, cataract surgery and tonsil removal are among the many operations that two-thirds of health trusts in England are now putting on a non-urgent list in an attempt to help save the government-run health care program $20 billion over the next four years. The newspaper reveals one third of health trusts have already expanded the list of rationed procedures in the last 12 months and others are expected to follow suit.
Some of the example of rationed surgical procedures include limiting hip replacements to those experiencing severe pain, cataract operations are on hold for those whose eyesight problems don t yet affect their ability to perform on the job, and patients with varicose veins will only be allowed operations if they are experiencing pain or internal bleeding.
The figures come from a new survey of 111 hospitals by an industry magazine and the survey also showed doctors are concerned about the effect the rationing will have on their relationships with their patients.
Birmingham and east London are reportedly the areas where rationing has expanded the fastest but Medway and Dorset are moving in that direction as well. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/28/british-national-health-service-extends-rationing-to-surgeries/

Dear Friends For Life, In Estonia a dubious landmark has passed. Abortion was legal in Estonia while under Russian domination and that legality has persisted. After independence, abortion was legalized in 1956. Since then about 1.5 million babies have been killed due to abortion. This is more than the current population of Estonia which is about 1.3 million. Currently every third baby conceived in Estonia is killed by abortion. It's current birth rate had been 2.3 but in 1998 dropped to 1.3. In '07 it climbed back to 1.64 and has held there. This is well below replacement level. Canada's Alex Schadenberg has examined a series of recent studies on euthanasia. Here are his findings. 1. People with manageable depression are dying by euthanasia in the Netherlands and by assisted suicide in Oregon. 2. More than 30% of all euthanasia deaths in Belgium are done without request or consent and nearly 50% of all euthanasia deaths in Belgium are not reported. 3. The eugenic language of the Geroningen Protocol permits the euthanasia of infants with disabilities in the Netherlands. And the slippery slope continues. The Culture of Life grows strong in some areas but in most, it has a long way to go. What personal statement or involvement can you contribute this week? God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

(FOCUS ON ASIA): "Child Trafficking Prevalent Throughout Southeast Asia" - Despite the efforts of local and international anti-trafficking groups, the problem is growing in Southeast Asia. Many experts say that the extreme poverty in the Philippines, Cambodia, Burma, Laos and Indonesia, combined with poor law enforcement and corruption, means that traffickers will continue to prey on the region's children.

ITEM #1: UK eugenic abortion stats released - thousands killed for Downs, cleft lip, club foot, etc.
In total, nearly 18,000 babies were aborted between 2002 and 2010 on the grounds of suspected disability. 1,189 were killed after the upper legal gestational age limit of 24 weeks. The figures show that these include 482 killed for Down's syndrome in 2010 alone. In the same year, 181 abortions were attributed to musculoskeletal problems such as club foot, while 189 unborn children killed for anencephaly and 128 for spina bifida.

ITEM #2: 150 human animal hybrids grown in UK labs: Embryos have been produced secretively for the past three years Scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in British laboratories. The hybrids have been produced secretively over the past three years by researchers looking into possible cures for a wide range of diseases.

ITEM #3: Youth Coalition Presents Alternative Message at UN
The International Youth Coalition of pro-life organizations presented an alternative message at a U.N. meeting on youth that recognizes the rights of parents and calls for policies that benefit young people. Says It Disagrees With Official Outcome Document.

ITEM #4: Disabled to hold anti-euthanasia protest outside parliament
Disability rights campaigners will stage a silent protest outside the Houses of Parliamentin Westminster this Wednesday, 27 July in protest at the drift toward all-out euthanasia. Mrs Kenward, who has never regained the use of her legs, is among those who fear that pressure is mounting on Parliament and in the courts to allow the killings of seriously sick, disabled or minimally conscious, but incapacitated patients. She is particularly concerned about the plight of some 6,000 mentally-incapacitated patients in the British health care system.

ITEM #5: 'Frankenstein': UK scientists warn about secret human-animal hybrid research
In a scenario that a panel of scientists with the Academy of Medical Sciences warned bears resemblance to Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein," British scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in secret research conducted in British laboratories.

ITEM #6: Shocking photo: late-term aborted baby lies in open casket at city hall funeral
"We are here because this baby was killed in the darkness, and we come to honor her in the bright light of day," Fr. Pavone declared in his remarks.

ITEM #7 No dignity in euthanasia
The chronically ill shouldn't feel pressured to relinquish their fragile hold on life.
****************************************
ITEM #8: Dutch doctors wary of euthanasia for dementia
The clinic is meant for people who are asking for euthanasia, but are unable to find a medical practitioner willing to assist them. Euthanasia is legal in the Netherlands under very strict conditions. A doctor has to declare that the patient is terminally ill and does not have any chances of recovery. Many doctors, however, are unwilling to co-operate, saying the rules are unclear, and that they are fearing legal consequences.

ITEM #9: Porn gets personal
Last week radio talk-show host Laura Ingraham told a story of traveling by train from Washington, DC, to New York with her young daughter. Walking up the aisle to get a snack, the little girl pointed to the computer screen of a man sitting two rows ahead of them. "Why are those people swimming naked, Mommy," she asked. It turns out that their fellow passenger was watching "full blown porn," as Ingraham described it, in easy view of anyone who happened to be sitting nearby or walking past. How, she wondered, have we reached this point?

ITEM #10: Afghanistan: Child Sex, Bacha Bazi and DynCorp
Sex trade and male prostitution has brought disgrace and shame to Afghanistan. Sex trade and male prostitution has taken deep roots in the country after the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001. The Persian word, Bacha Bazi means "boy play" or "boy for play." As per its conservative nature, in Afghan society, women either prostitute or professional are not allowed to perform dance among the male parties, therefore, in all parties arranged by warlords and their cronies, play boys are lured to dance all the night.

ITEM #11: Judie Brown Exposes 'Criminal Minds' in the Field of Bio-Ethics
Moral law, bioethics, choices-all are words that have meaning beyond what the typical person may think. But when we really sit down to discern their meanings and implications, we come to a true understanding. Today's commentary will help with that understanding. Read on for Judie Brown's insights into these areas.

ITEM #12: Pastoral Ministry to Young People with Same-Sex Attraction
As Bishops, we wish to address the pastoral needs of adolescents and young adults who question their sexual identity or experience feelings of same-sex attraction.

You won’t want to miss her powerful story that blows the lid off the late-term abortion lies! Twenty years ago, God’s Spirit moved in Wichita, Kansas, during the original Summer of Mercy, which exposed another late-term abortionist and revitalized a struggling pro-life movement.
