CNN has released the results of a new poll showing a majority of Americans want all or most abortions prohibited a clear pro-life majority.

Obama Rejects Catholic Leader for Democratic Convention Prayer
Timothy Cardinal Dolan will deliver the benediction at the Republican Party convention but, in a slight to Catholics, pro-abortion President Barack Obama rejected Cardinal Dolan s similar offer of a prayer at the Democratic convention.
Dolan told Democrats he would be grateful to deliver a blessing in Charlotte, according to the New York Post, but Obama turned him down.
Dolan considered the top Catholic official in the nation, as head of the Archdiocese of New York and president of the Conference of Catholic Bishops tipped off Democrats a few weeks ago that he had agreed to deliver the prime-time benediction at the Republican convention in Tampa next week, Dolan s spokesman Joseph Zwilling told The Post. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/obama-rejects-catholic-leader-for-democratic-convention-prayer/
Akin Stays in Missouri Senate Race: Election, Not a Selection
Missouri Senate candidate Tod Akin announced today he will stay in the race despite a controversy over remarks he made related to rape and abortions.
I may not be the favorite candidate of some people within the Republican establishment, but the voters made the decision, he said. We re going to be here through the November election and we re going to be here to win. This is an election, not a selection." Akin called on pro-abortion Sen. Claire McCaskill to leave the race and said the fight between the two candidates would be one over two Americas one liberal and one conservative. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/akin-stays-in-missouri-senate-race-election-not-a-selection/

CNN s Cooper Exposes Top Democrat Lying About Romney, Abortion
A must-see video is going viral across the Internet today and if features CNN s Anderson Cooper taking Democratic party chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to task for misleading about Mitt Romney s pro-life position on abortion.
Since the controversy began with the comments from Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin on abortion and rape, Democrats have been hoping to tie Romney with Akin to make his pro-life position look extreme. In a letter to Democrats, Wasserman Schultz said: The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that the platform was, and I quote, written at the direction of Romney s campaign. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/cnns-cooper-exposes-top-democrat-lying-about-romney-abortion/
FactCheck: Obama Campaign Misleading About Romney, Abortion
The Obama campaign is misleading, in attacks on Mitt Romney and Republicans about abortion, according to the FactCheck.org web site run by the University of Pennsylvania.
The Obama campaign is falsely accusing the Republican Party s platform of calling for banning abortions even in cases of rape or incest. That s not true. The 2012 platform is silent on exceptions leaving that decision up to Congress and the states just as it was in 2008 and in previous presidential election years. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/factcheck-obama-campaign-misleading-about-romney-abortion/
Court: Obama Can Force Taxpayer-Funded Embryonic Stem Cell Research
A federal appeals court has determined a federal judge was right to throw out a lawsuit challenging President Barack Obama s decision to force taxpayers to fund embryonic stem cell research.
The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld a decision throwing out a lawsuit challenging the funding, which President George W. Bush stopped and Obama allowed just months after entering office. The bringers of the lawsuit argued Obama s executive order forcing taxpayer funding violated the 1996 Dickey-Wicker law that prohibits taxpayer of any scientific research that results in the destruction of human embryos, unborn children at their earliest days of life. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/court-obama-can-force-taxpayer-funded-embryonic-stem-cell-research/
Pro-Life Democrats to Counter Democrats Pro-Abortion Convention
After having been thrown to the curb by the Democratic Party and its refusal to acknowledge them in their party platform, pro-life Democrats are planning to hold their own event at the convention in Charlotte.
Former Rep. Bart Stupak, a Michigan Democrat, will be featured at a Democrats for Life of America event on Tuesday, September 4 to, as the group tells LifeNews, showcase pro-life Democratic leaders in the political, academic, and religious fields who have spent years standing up for pro-life values and continue to fight for life today. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/pro-life-democrats-to-counter-democrats-pro-abortion-convention/
The Real Extremist on Abortion is President Obama, Not Todd Akin
I hesitate to disturb the Left in the midst of its revelry over Representative Akin s remarks which, for all their egregiousness, did not actually impact any citizen s rights but it s time to turn our attention back to the Obama administration s unprecedented assault on religious liberty and its unquestioned pro-abortion extremism. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/the-real-extremist-on-abortion-is-president-obama-not-todd-akin/

Five Trends Beautifully Illustrate the Humanity of Unborn Babies
Most people know that fetuses are human beings. To what other species would they belong? Still, the Canadian Medical Association just declared that babies aren t human until after birth, and philosopher and bioethicist Peter Singer recently claimed that being human doesn t give you the right to live. Each of these statements has helped to stir up both the abortion and personhood debates. However, new pregnancy trends could help bring humanity and rights back to the unborn. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/24/five-trends-beautifully-illustrate-the-humanity-of-unborn-babies/
