Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
Having just returned from an intense mission with Family Life International New Zealand, I wanted to share with you how vital it is to reclaim the culture for life!
With the Church and many faithful suffering
from a laxity in proclaiming the faith, life and family advocates --
clergy, consecrated religious, and laity -- are the key to reclaiming
the culture and bringing back the zeal that St. John Paul II both
demonstrated and called us to make our own:
is urgently called for is a general mobilization of consciences and
a united ethical effort to activate a great campaign in support of life.
All together, we must build a new culture of life (Evangelium vitae, 95).
More than ever, HLI's
presence through our pro-life and pro-family missionaries is an
authentic Catholic "life force" in need of our intense prayers and
support. I am ever grateful -- and encouraged -- that we can continue to
reclaim the culture, for life, and for the glory of God.
