Deeply disturbing

Dear CV Friend, Obamacare Lawsuit

I wish I were making this up.

A federal judge recently declared that the President's new healthcare law gives the federal government the right to regulate your thoughts.

Federal Judge Gladys Kessler stated that if you decide not to purchase healthcare insurance, your decision qualifies as “mental activity” – which the government can regulate under the Commerce Clause of our Constitution.

Can you imagine the threats to our religious liberty if we don’t stop this horrendous legal reasoning?

The Legal Fund has no choice but to get involved. We will be working through the weekend to file a critical brief with the D.C. Court of Appeals on Monday.

Please make a tax-deductible gift today. Your generosity will help provide the resources we need to defend our religious liberties.

The Commerce Clause of our Constitution, as you likely know, gives Congress the right to regulate economic activity. The Courts have used the Commerce Clause to justify government control over much of our lives. But we may have reached the tipping point.

If Congress can regulate “mental activity,” then what rights do we have that the government can't control?

Please consider a $15, $25 or $50 gift to help us defend our religious liberties.

We want affordable and accessible healthcare for all. But this is not the way to accomplish this goal. This law must be stopped. And we intend to do our part to make sure it is struck down.

If you can help, we can use it.
