Obama administration and Planned Parenthood fight Indiana legislation

The New York Times May 22 headline blared US objects to new law on clinics in Indiana. That headline reveals more than a little about the sway Planned Parenthood holds over the government of this nation.

Planned Parenthood receives almost a million dollars a day in government funding, and its national leader, Cecile Richards, is often seen embracing President Obama. She has visited the White House more times than most members of Congress. And her organization has helped elect scores of pro-abortion men and women to Congress.

So it comes as no surprise that the Obama administration is opposing the newly enacted Indiana law that would take away some Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood. While the NY Times headline would lead one to believe that the United States is a party to the lawsuit to stop the Indiana legislation, it is in fact Planned Parenthood of Indiana and two of its clients that have gone to a Federal District Court challenging the law as a "blatant violation of the 'freedom of choice' provision" of federal law.

The White House, for its part, approved a statement by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which reads, in part: "Medicaid does not allow states to stop beneficiaries from getting care they need - like cancer screenings and preventive care - because their provider offers certain other services. We are reviewing this particular situation and situations in other states."

Even when the elected representatives of the people of these United States enact laws that mitigate some of the damage being done to our society by Planned Parenthood, our federal government steps in to embrace and protect the abortion giant. It is time to defund Planned Parenthood completely and permanently. And in order to do that, we need government officials at all levels of government who respect and will protect the sanctity of human life. Visit our website today to learn more about how to defund Planned Parenthood. Get involved by writing and calling your legislators and insisting that Planned Parenthood be defunded.

Planned Parenthood religious coalition: It's wrong to say abortion is wrong

Indiana Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (IRCRC) is being cited widely in news reports regarding the legislation being challenged by Planned Parenthood that removes some funding from the abortion giant.

Interim IRCRC president Carolyn Meagher was quoted in a recent Indiana Public Media article, making reference to pictures of aborted babies carried by Planned Parenthood protesters at a rally:

"I think those signs are there to shock and scare people, to make people feel shame and guilt about decisions they may make about their childbearing," Meagher said. "And I think when the extreme faction wants to show pictorial images, I think they're trying to shame and scare people and make people feel guilty, and like they've created a sin, and what they're doing is wrong."

Here we have a woman who purports to be "religious" -- although her religious affiliation is nowhere to be found in the media, her website or her Facebook page -- referring to the cruel death by dismemberment of tiny innocent children as a "childbearing decision," and saying that it's wrong to point out that such slaughter of babies is wrong.

Often quoted as having a broad base of support among religious institutions in Indiana, the group lists "catholic" first among the religious affiliation of its supporters. However, a visit to the supporter page on its website shows its supporting congregations and organizations are Planned Parenthood of Indiana, two Jewish congregations, a Church of Christ congregation, and two Unitarian Universalist congregations.

The strategy of getting "religious" people onboard the human extermination wagon harkens back to Margaret Sanger's early days. She wrote to Dr. Clarence Gamble in 1939: "We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

History repeats itself. Study the history and underlying secular humanism religion of Planned Parenthood by ordering our DVD series today. It is an excellent tool in preparing to battle Planned Parenthood on all fronts.

Iowa Planned Parenthood affiliates merge

On the heels of its announcement of an $11.5 million capital campaign to spread its abortion business in Iowa and Nebraska, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has announced that it will absorb Planned Parenthood of Southeast Iowa. The two affiliates signed a letter of intent to complete the merger no later than June 30, 2011.

According to a press release, upon completion of the merger, PP of the Heartland will operate a total of twenty-five "health centers" in Iowa, four "health centers" in Nebraska and three Education Resource Centers in Des Moines, Lincoln and Omaha.

As a defensive measure against Planned Parenthood's ever-expanding abortion business, Nebraska has just passed a law outlawing telemed abortions. The mammoth Planned Parenthood of the Heartland pioneered the lucrative telemed abortions in 2008 and has committed over 2,000 such abortions since then, according to Nebraska Right to Life. Kansas, Arizona and Oklahoma have also passed telemed abortion bans this year. Kudos to pro-life advocates around the nation who are working on many fronts to slow the growth of Planned Parenthood's abortion business.

Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: The Visitation

No Marian feast day speaks more eloquently of our obligation, our privilege and of the fruits of Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary than the Visitation, which we celebrate next week.

When Mary found she was to become the Mother of God's only begotten Son, she did not set herself aside as one who should be served. Rather she made herself a servant.

When the angel Gabriel almost simultaneously revealed to Mary that her elderly cousin Elizabeth was pregnant, Mary went without hesitation to help her cousin. She undertook the difficult journey and three months absence from her home during her own pregnancy with no thought of the difficulties she would encounter, but rather left in joyful anticipation of helping her relative in her time of need.

Luke 1 recounts: When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, 'Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.'

Elizabeth's preborn child was John the Baptist. He sensed the presence of Jesus in the womb of Mary and he literally jumped for joy.

We must follow Mary's example, and go in haste to help the women who are pregnant. We must bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary so that those babies who are scheduled for slaughter may, too, have the opportunity to jump for joy at the presence of Christ, and so that perhaps their mothers may find a moment of grace in which their hearts will be softened and their children's lives will be saved.

Victory: Virginia Beach Planned Parenthood surgical hospital denied

When Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia applied for a certificate of need to add two operating rooms and bring the facility on Newtown Road in Virginia Beach up to the standards of a surgical outpatient hospital, area pro-lifers took immediate action.

They began to rally and gather support against approval of the certificate. They appeared and testified at the hearing. We joined them in encouraging pro-life advocates to contact the Virginia Department of Health in opposition to issuance of the certificate.

Thanks be to God, many contacts were made, and the staff of the department of health has recommended denial of the certificate, which would have increased Planned Parenthood's abortion capacity and equipped them to commit late term abortions.

The state health commissioner will likely rule on the application later this year.

Congratulations to the dedicated pro-life groups in the Virginia Beach area who continually oppose and expose Planned Parenthood at every turn.
