Sarah Palin Will Not Seek Republican Presidential Nomination
Ending months of speculation, former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has announced she will not seek the Republican nomination for president to take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
Palin released the following statement today:
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office from the nation s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the fundamental transformation of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.
From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back and as I ve always said, one doesn t need a title to help do it. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/sarah-palin-will-not-seek-republican-presidential-nomination/
Huge Battle on Abortion, Planned Parenthood Funding Coming
Republicans and Democrats in Congress are preparing for what may be a massive battle on taxpayer funding of abortion, abortion promotion and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 2608, a continuing resolution to fund the federal government at current levels and under current conditions until November 18. The Senate passed its version of the continuing resolution last week and the final bill to fund the federal government will go to President Barack Obama for his signature.
Now, Congress has less than two months to put together another spending bill to send to Obama to keep the federal government running beyond that. In preparation for the November 18 deadline, House Republicans and Senate Democrats have prepared dramatically different appropriations bills when it comes to the issue of abortion.
Last Spring, negotiations between Republicans and democrats reached an intense fever pitch and it ended with Obama repeatedly refusing overtures from pro-life Speaker John Boehner to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Boehner succeeded in forcing Senate Democrats to vote on Planned Parenthood funding, but the chamber rejected the de-funding bill the House approved.
Now, another battle over Planned Parenthood funding and abortion funding is coming as Democrats and Republicans take a different approach on several key issues of concern to pro-life organizations. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/huge-battle-on-abortion-planned-parenthood-funding-coming/
911 Call Reveals Another Woman Injured by Botched Abortion
The crisis that has developed surrounding an abortion facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico is depending as a pro-life organization reveals yet another 911 call from the Southwestern Women s Options late-term abortion clinic.
Tara Shaver of Project Defending Life obtained the latest 911 call audio from officials and released the tape to Operation Rescue. The call has information about a 31-year old woman who is suffering uncontrolled bleeding after an abortion and the abortion facility worker who placed the emergency call requested that the patient be transported to the hospital.
Uh, we have a 31 year old female, gravida 5, para 4*, who underwent an abortion today. She s continuing to bleed. We need to transport her to the hospital, please, the call from the abortion center says.
The woman was awake and breathing normally at the time but, asked if the bleeding is serious, the staffer pauses. She is not on blood thinners. She does not have a bleeding disorder, but the bleeding is persistent. It will not stop, the staffer eventually says. Nothing further is known about the identify of the woman or her current medical condition.
This is the eleventh botched abortion 911 call Operation Rescue has released concerning the Southwestern Women s Options in New Mexico over the last two years and the fourteenth such call concerning two Albuquerque-based abortion centers over the same time period. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/911-call-reveals-another-woman-injured-by-botched-abortion/
180 Movie: Interviewing Ray Comfort, The Man Behind The Film
The pro-life community has been buzzing for a week now about the 180? documentary. If you haven t seen it yet, you can watch it for free at 180Movie.com. I had the opportunity to interview Ray Comfort, the author and filmmaker behind 180, to ask him some questions about the movie. You can listen to the full audio interview (12 minutes) by clicking here, or you can read the transcript below.
Josh Brahm: Ray, how did you come up with the idea for 180?
Ray Comfort: Well, I was actually it wasn t planned. I wrote a book called Hitler, God and the Bible and told the publishers, WorldNetDaily, that I was going to create a video called Hitler s Religion and go with it, took part of the manuscript and made it into a TV script and found it was just too big, too long, and too confusing and I actually gave up. I said, Look, I m taking a camera out in the streets to find out what people believe about Hitler and we just abandoned the script. And I came back with 14 interviews of people who didn t know who Hitler was. That really, really blew me away. And then I bumped into a guy named Steve who was a neo-Nazi, black-hating, Jew-hating, Hitler-loving, America-hating atheist who had a 14-inch blue Mohawk and that was very colorful footage. And then I was heckled by a German neo-Nazi, Jew-hater and we managed to get him on a hidden camera and a hidden microphone and then I bumped into a Russian Jew who happened to have lost his relatives in the Holocaust. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/180-movie-interviewing-ray-comfort-the-man-behind-the-film/

Thousands of Students to Join Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity
Every October, tens of thousands of students across the United States and in other countries join together for the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity when they silently stand up for unborn children killed in abortions.
The day sees students at college and university campuses join their peers in high schools and junior high schools to put red tape over their mouths or adorn their arms with red armbands and to pass out literature letting their friends know why they are taking a vow of silence for the entire schoolday. Every year on the third Tuesday of October for the last eight years, the event has had a tremendous impact changing hearts and minds on abortion and saving, in 2010, 32 babies from scheduled abortions.
While hearing about babies being saved is always amazing, this day is about so much more than just that. This day is about a generation taking a stand against the worst genocide that has ever plagued our planet. This is about young people who have decided to be a voice for the 1/3 of their generation who will never have one, says Bryan Kemper of Strand True, the sponsoring organization.
Students from over 3,800 campuses in 29 countries came together as once voice, a silent but deafening voice, Kemper said of last year s event. They came together to give dignity to the thousands of precious babies who lose lives to lies of so-called freedom of choice every day.
This year, Kemper says he expects a bigger participation level for the event because so many unborn children have lost their lives. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/thousands-of-students-to-join-pro-life-day-of-silent-solidarity/
Media Falsely Report Embryonic Stem Cell Research Advance
Mainstream media reports issued today make it appear scientists engaged in some sort of massive breakthrough or advance in human cloning and embryonic stem cell research, but that doesn t appear to be the case.
A Washington Post headline screams, Scientists Report Possibly Crucial Advance in Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research while the BBC blares the title, Human cloning makes embryonic stem cells.
Scientists reported Wednesday that for the first time they used cloning techniques to coax human eggs to generate embryonic stem cells containing the genes of specific patients, the Post claims while the BBC says, A form of cloning has been used to create personalized embryonic stem cells in humans, say researchers.
However, Dr. David Prentice, a former Indiana State University biology professor who is now a fellow with the Family Research Council, tells LifeNews.com the media reports are much ado about nothing. He says the result of the work of the scientists involve in impractical.
These results are decidedly underwhelming, he told LifeNews. The scientists did get human cloned embryos, and got cells from two of the many embryos created, but the embryos and cells were triploid, containing half again as many chromosomes as normal. They have no clinical use, and will also be relatively useless for laboratory studies because as was noted in the study, the cells accumulated numerous additional mutations once placed into cell culture. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/media-falsely-report-embryonic-stem-cell-research-advance/
Congressional Panel OKs Bill De-Funding Pro-Abortion UNFPA
A House committee today approved legislation that yanks millions from the UN organization that has been shown to be involved in supporting China s population control efforts and has promoted abortion globally.
Republican Rep. Renee Ellmers, of North Carolina, introduced the bill to stop $40 million in annual funding for the UNFPA agency after voters said they wanted the legislation and voted it as a priority in the House Republican YouCut program.
This is going to save American taxpayers $400 million dollars over a 10 year period and it s just another part of what we re doing here in Washington to cut wasteful spending that we see happening, she said this summer. And I am very excited to be part of this program and each week we will have more cuts coming forward.
The House Foreign Affairs Committee favorably reported out the bill, H.R. 2059, and Ellmers was joined by Reps. Chris Smith and others in making the case for terminating U.S. contributions to this organization, complicit in China s one-child policy, which sees women subjected to forced abortions and sterilizations.
Smith, a new jersey Republican who has long been the pro-life leader in the House of Representatives, pointed to a Bush administration report showing the UNFPA linked with the one-child-policy as reason enough to revoke U.S. taxpayer funding. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/congressional-panel-oks-bill-de-funding-pro-abortion-unfpa/
Abortion Advocates Vandalize Pro-Life Display After Arrests
Arrests have been made related to initial vandalism of a pro-life display on the campus of the University of Buffalo, but that hasn t topped abortion advocates from vandalizing the cross display again. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/abortion-advocates-vandalize-pro-life-display-after-arrests/
Babies Go To Congress to Defend Pregnancy Centers
Pregnancy help centers are a model for informed choice, giving women complete information about adoption and parenting, as well as all the risks associated with abortion and the details of human development. But pregnancy centers are under siege. Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and their cronies have been working hard to discredit the lifesaving work of pregnancy centers. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/babies-go-to-congress-to-defend-pregnancy-centers/
Kansas Defends Planned Parenthood De-Funding Law in Court
The state of Kansas filed a 144-page legal document yesterday defending a new state law that prevents state taxpayer dollars from financing the Planned Parenthood abortion business via family planning programs. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/kansas-defends-planned-parenthood-de-funding-law-in-court/
How Do Pro-Life Parents Deal With Pro-Abortion Vaccines?
One of the most asked about and difficult ethical issues for Catholic parents to deal with is the issue with vaccination. Many vaccines are created with cell lines that originated from an aborted fetus. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/how-do-pro-life-parents-deal-with-pro-abortion-vaccines/
Assessing the Presidential Candidates on Abortion, Supreme Court
The Judiciary doesn t have the final word on the meaning of the Constitution, and Congress could step in to protect the 14th Amendment rights of the unborn. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/10/05/assessing-the-presidential-candidates-on-abortion-supreme-court/
