Mortal Life without End? Really?
By Judie Brown
A "perfect" person with no flaws, no illnesses, super strength, and a long life. Sound great in theory, doesn't it? Who wouldn't want to eradicate suffering and loss? But think of the cost and the different kind of loss that would result. With these "superhuman" characteristics come the loss of free will, the loss of our uniqueness, and the loss of what makes us human. God has created us in His image and likeness. If we strip ourselves of that and become essentially robots, where will that leave us? More importantly, where will that leave our souls? Today's commentary addresses what could happen if we allow technology to eat away at our humanity.

Planned Parenthood: Record year for abortions,
taxpayer funding
One News Now
Planned Parenthood's latest annual report shows it performed a record number of abortions in the fiscal year 2011-2012 and received a record amount of taxpayer funding. According to that report, Planned Parenthood performed 333,964 abortions during the 12-month period. That compares to 332,278 abortions in 2009 and 329,445 abortions in 2010----making a three-year toll of close to one million abortions. Jim Sedlak with American Life League comments on the record number of abortions reported: "They've had an increase of about 4,000 more babies that they've killed. Planned Parenthood now kills over 900 babies a day in their own facilities, so every three days they kill the same number of innocent human beings who died on September 11, 2001, in the terrorist attacks on the United States." And regarding the record amount of taxpayer funding: "They reported that for the latest year, they received $542 million," notes Sedlak. "So Planned Parenthood has increased another $60 million last year----and of course the gates are about to open wide as ObamaCare gets implemented and Planned Parenthood gets millions more."

Planned Parenthood abandons term 'pro-choice'
JillStanek.com
Pro-lifers have always disdained the term "pro-choice," because it is intentionally ambiguous. It lets abortion supporters off the hook. Now, apparently even "pro-choice" has become radioactive. On January 9, with carefully controlled fanfare (no press release, hand-picked reporters), Planned Parenthood announced it was abandoning the term "pro-choice."

The overpopulation 'crisis' peters out
Center for Bioethics and Culture Network
Anti-humanists----ranging from deep ecology misanthropes, to some global warming alarmists, The Population Bomb true believers, and "nature rights" advocates, among others----claim repeatedly that teeming humanity will soon overwhelm all other life on the planet, requiring immediate steps to dramatically depopulate. In this view, we are a scourge, the AIDS afflicting Gaia. Indeed, the plot of a recent
A-List Hollywood movie----"The Day the Earth Stood Still"----had Keanu Reeves
as the alien Klaatu, travel here to commit total genocide to "save the earth." But now, according to an article in Slate ----no right wing Big Oil tool----claims that not only is overpopulation alarmism overblown, but we need to start having more children. What's up?
