MILWAUKEE, Wisc., Feb. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- To demonstrate support for the message of an issue ad to be aired during Sunday's CBS broadcast of the Super Bowl, a Wisconsin pro-life group is urging spectators at the game and viewers at home to wear a Tim Tebow mask to show their appreciation for life and strong family values.
Tim Tebow was a college football star who won the Heisman trophy in 2007 and took the Florida Gators to two national championships. He is also an unabashed Christian and pro-life supporter.
"Tim Tebow's life matters," exclaimed Barbara Lyons, Executive Director of Wisconsin Right to Life. "And we can all have a little fun and show the public that Tim and his Mom and Dad are an inspiration to all of us."
The issue ad to be broadcast Sunday was produced by Focus on the Family. The theme is "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life," and features a pro-life message about Pam and Bob Tebow's 1987 pregnancy. After Pam contracted an illness during a mission trip in the Philippines, they ignored doctors' suggestions to abort their fifth child, Tim, who was born August 14th.
"To show your support for Tim, his mother and father, and Focus on the Family for providing an inspirational message to the world's largest television audience, Wisconsin Right to Life invites everyone who cares about life and strong family values to download a Tim Tebow mask and wear it during the Super Bowl game on Sunday," said Lyons. The Tim Tebow mask is available atwww.wisconsinrighttolife.org.
"The Super Bowl is America's biggest party," said Lyons. "So have fun, don your Tim Tebow mask when the Focus on the Family television ad airs. Wear it proudly. And make a statement for life. And maybe it's not just a coincidence the Saints are playing Sunday."
Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
