FROM OPERATION RESCUE: FROM THE FRONT LINES

PA Abortionist Deceives In TV Interview

March 1, 2010

Gosnell also caught misrepresenting two staffers as Medical Doctors when they are not.

Philadelphia, PA - Abortionist Kermit B. Gosnell, whose license was suspended after authorities investigating a suspicious abortion death discovered filthy conditions and dozens of aborted babies at his Philadelphia abortion clinic, granted an interview with a local television station where he denied he ever had any complaints about his work.

"I haven't seen a negative comment that a patient has been dissatisfied with the services that I have provided," Gosnell said.

But a former patient had something else to say about that on camera.

"I really felt like he was just going to let me die," said Dayna Haynes, a former patient of Gosnell's who suffered a botched,  incomplete abortion and had to wait hours for proper medical care.

The reporter then showed a stack of over 40 lawsuits filed against Gosnell.

"If you're not making mistakes, you are not really attempting to do something," Gosnell said.

"Sure that sounds great when you are talking about inventing a longer lasting light bulb, but when Gosnell makes a mistake, it can cost a woman her life. Just ask the family of Karnamaya Mongar, who died from one of Gosnell's 'mistakes' in November, or the 42 women who have filed lawsuits against him for injuring them," said Operation Rescue spokesperson Cheryl Sullenger.

Abortionist Epstein Denies Involvement In Abortion Death

Jackson Heights, NY - New York abortionist Salomon Epstein has contact Operation Rescue to deny his involvement in the abortion death of Alexandra Nunez last month.

Epstein told Operation Rescue President Troy Newman in an e-mail to contact the "A-1 Clinic" and talk to the owner, awoman named Rose, to confirm the true identity of the abortionist involved in the death.

A call was made by Operation Rescue investigators and an unidentified receptionist refused to give any information, but did not deny it when questioned if Epstein worked at the clinic. "If you got an e-mail, you work it out with him," she said.

"But he asked us to call you," the investigator responded, at which time the receptionist hung up.

Operation Rescue investigator Tara Shaver says that she was told by a receptionist late last year that Salomon Epstein was involved with the clinic. Shaver later filed a complaint with the New York Medical Board against Epstein when news of the Nunez abortion death surfaced. Shaver was sent a letter confirming that an investigation was underway and has since spoken with investigators.

"Whether Epstein was involved in the death of Mrs. Nunez is a matter now for investigators to sort out. We have acted in good faith based on the best information we have been able to gather in order to protect women from further tragedy," said Newman. "We have years of experience dealing with abortionists who are not entirely truthful. We will await the outcome of the investigation to hopefully get to the bottom of this."

Trial of Man Who Murdered Pro-Life Activist Begins

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI - Opening arguments were presented this morning in themurder trial of Harlan Drake, who is accused of murdering pro-life activist Jim Pouillon as he protested outside an Owosso, Michigan high school, and Michael Fuoss, the owner of a local gravel pit.

Drake has confessed to the murders. His attorneys say Drake was mentally ill on September 11, 2009, when he went on his murder spree. It is said that Drake held a grudge against Poullion and was unhappy with the way he protested abortion by using signs with the graphic images of aborted babies. Drake also apparently had an unrelated grudge against Mr. Fuoss.

Prosecutors are arguing evidence will show that Drake pre-planned the murders the night before and was not mentally ill at that time.

"We continue to pray for the family of Jim Pouillon and the Fuoss family during this difficult time along with prayers that justice is done and Mr. Drake is held fully accountable for his actions," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
