Obama s Private Remarks Caught on Planned Parenthood, Obamacare
A White House reporter last night caught pro-abortion President Barack Obama talking privately to donors using a microphone that transmitted the audio to the main correspondent press room.
CBS Radio News White House correspondent Mark Knoller had no idea the audio feed from Obama s microphone would be fed live into the White House press room until he happened to be the last reporter left in the room on Thursday night. In the candid remarks Knoller heard, Obama talked about his private dealings with pro-life House Speaker John Bohener in the budget negotiations that led up to votes Thursday on de-funding Obamacare and Planned Parenthood.

I said, You want to repeal health care? Go at it, Obama told supporters. We ll have that debate. You re not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we re stupid?

Obama said he told Boehner that Democrats spent a year and half getting Obamacare, which has loopholes allowing abortion funding ad presents rationing concerns, in place and that he and his party paid significant political costs in enacting it to the point that Obama said he would not allow Republicans to start dismantling it via the budget.

The CBS correspondent also heard Obama talk about Planned Parenthood de-funding and his demanding of Boehner that a separate vote be held.

Put it in a separate bill, Obama told the Democratic donors about what he told Boehner. We ll call it up. And if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don t try to sneak this through.

Obama also told Democratic supporters last night that he expected Republicans to continue doing everything they can to stop or reduce the effectiveness of his political agenda.Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood Votes Show Pro-Life Democrats Extinct
When members of the Senate voted yesterday on whether taxpayer money should continue flowing to the Planned Parenthood abortion business to the tune of tens of millions of dollars annually, pro-life advocates had no friends in the Democratic Party.

While all but five Republicans voted for the resolution prohibiting the abortion business from receiving money under the Title X family planning portion of the federal budget, none of the three self-declared pro-life Democrats had any interest in yanking funds from the nation s biggest abortion business that does more than 330,000 abortions on an annual basis.

Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Joe Manchin of West Virginia all voted to allow Planned Parenthood to continue exploiting women and children via abortions done at their taxpayer-funded facilities. Their votes will likely cost them support from pro-life organizations and pro-life voters in the 2012 elections as they each face difficult re-election campaigns.

Guy Benson, a writer at TownHall, a conservative web site, noted the unanimous pro-Planned Parenthood posture of the supposedly pro-life Democrats and says they are now officially extinct.

Can we finally dispense with the myth of the pro-life Democrat? he said. In the Senate last night, three pro-life Democrats voted in lockstep with America s Official Abortion Party to maintain federal funding to Planned Parenthood in a stand alone vote. Full story at LifeNews.com

Ad Campaign Targets Democrats Backing Planned Parenthood
The Susan B. Anthony List is wasting no time in starting a new advertising campaign focusing on three Democrats in vulnerable 2012 re-election campaigns who voted yesterday for funding Planned Parenthood.

The SBA List will take its educational campaign to voters who live in Pennsylvania, Nebraska and Missouri, the states where Bob Casey, Ben Nelson and Claire McCaskill voted to continue the taxpayer funding of the biggest abortion business in the nation. The group told LifeNews today the campaign will kick off with targeted radio ads featuring testimony from former Planned Parenthood Clinic Director Abby Johnson and asks constituents to contact their senator to voice disapproval over his or her vote.

Votes have consequences, especially for politicians who say one thing at home and do another in Washington when it comes to protecting Life, said SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser.

As self-described pro-life Democrats, Sens. Nelson and Casey betrayed their constituents by voting for taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, Dannenfelser explained to LifeNews.com. Claire McCaskill, a supposed moderate, will have a hard time justifying to her constituents why she voted to continue giving their tax dollars to America s largest abortion provider during a time of fiscal crisis. Funding an organization that flaunts federal law and cares nothing for the safety of women and young girls makes no fiscal sense, especially at a time when our country is in fiscal peril.

The SBA List promised to watch closely as vulnerable senators cast these important votes and we are following through. Voter education starts today. Constituents in Pennsylvania, Nebraska and Missouri will hold these politicians accountable for their votes, she said. Full story at LifeNews.com

Woman Rushed to Hospital in Florida After Botched Abortion
An ambulance rushed to the Presidential Women s Center abortion center in West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday to transport a woman to the hospital for emergency care following a botched abortion.

This was the third time recently that a woman was transported to the hospital after a botched abortion at an abortion clinic affiliated with the National Abortion Federation. Two women were transported for emergency medical care after failed abortions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In this latest case in Florida, the ambulance pulled into the back alley where emergency workers loaded a gurney bearing an injured woman and then it sped away to an unknown hospital emergency room. The woman s condition remains unknown as well. One pro-life advocate who happened to be at the abortion center to inform women of abortion alternatives photographed the ambulance and watched the scene unfold.

The abortion practitioner on duty at the time was Michael Benjamin, who has a history of Medical Board discipline and has a current public complaint on file, according to the Florida Department of Health. Abortion practitioner Frank Rodriguez is also known to do abortions there, according to Operation Rescue, the pro-life group that provided information about the failed abortion to LifeNews.

This is not the first time we have seen ambulances at Presidential Women s Center, said M. Susan Pine, the president of the local pro-life group FACE Life, Inc., who was at the abortion center at the time. Presidential is simply another butcher shop. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood to Expand Abortion Biz in Nebraska, Iowa
Fresh from a victory in the Senate to preserve its massive taxpayer funding, a local affiliate of the Planned Parenthood abortion business announced today it plans to expand in Nebraska and Iowa.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland announced today it will open new centers in 12 communities in the Midwestern states over the next five years including a third location in Lincoln, the Nebraska state capital and the location of the University of Nebraska. PPH president Jill June announced the expansion and launched a $11.5 million campaign to raise funds for the new centers that will add to the 25 the abortion business already operates in the two states.

Planned Parenthood would open new centers, which would either do abortions or refer for them, in Grand Island, Fremont, North Platte, Hastings, Norfolk and Kearney in Nebraska, and Carter Lake, Clinton, Mason City, Muscatine, Ottumwa and Marshalltown in Iowa. It did not say which centers would do abortions on site, offer the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug which has killed 13 women and injured 1,100 more, or which would only refer for abortions.

It s ambitious, June told AP of Planned Parenthood s expansion plans. We are going forward in western Nebraska because people need us there as well.

She told the Associated Press her Planned Parenthood affiliate has already raised $7 million of the funds necessary to expand and is expected to reach the goal in the next five years. June also indicated the abortion business will announce the purchase of a new site in Lincoln in the next 30 days. Full story at LifeNews.com

Washington Pastors Challenge DC Mayor Gray on Abortion Funding
After facing arrest following his protesting Congress approving a budget bill that reinstates the ban on taxpayer funding of abortions in the District of Columbia, Washington mayor now faces his own protests.

In response to Mayor Vincent Gray s protest and arrest for supporting forcing taxpayers to fund abortions of DC residents, a coalition of D.C. pastors are challenging the Mayor to stand up for the tiniest of constituents who truly cannot speak for themselves the unborn children killed in the abortions.

Signed by 10 African American pastors from the District of Columbia and surrounding areas, including Bishop Harry R. Jackson, Jr. and Rev. Dean Nelson of Care Net, a national network of 1,130 pregnancy centers, an open letter to Mayor Gray reads:

Who could have imagined during the height of the Civil Rights Movement a day when the mayor of Washington, D.C. would be arrested for protesting for the right to use tax dollars to abort babies, a disproportionate number of them black? As pastors and community leaders, we feel bewildered and betrayed.

Abortion is the leading cause of death in the black community nationwide. While African American women represent 13% of the female population, they undergo 37% of all abortions. As a leader charged with our protection and government, we are shocked at your passion to continue this trend with tax dollars. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood to Close Center in Northern California
The Planned Parenthood abortion business closed one of its northern California centers effective yesterday. The local Six Rivers Planned Parenthood affiliated closed up shop in Weaverville, California.

For quite some time, this health center has been struggling with decreased patient volume and increased costs, a Planned Parenthood official told the Trinity Journal newspaper.

We have worked hard with our Trinity County Advisory Council and the Weaverville community to brainstorm solutions, expand marketing, get creative, and do anything and everything we could to maintain the current level of service, the official said. We have been part of the Trinity County community for over 25 years and know that patients like you need and value our services.

Weaverville is a community in the national forest area west of Redding in the northern part of the state too far from the Oregon border. Although the center there did not perform abortions or give out the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug, that has killed 13 women worldwide and injured another 1,100 more in the United States alone as of 2006 FDA figures, it made abortion referrals to the Planned Parenthood abortion business in Eureka. Chaput: Bishops Must Present Unity on Politicians, Abortion
When Catholic politicians push for abortion without impunity, Catholic faithful are often left wondering why Church leaders don t do more to bring up their actions as out of step with Catholic teachings. One leading bishop is explaining why. Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, who leads the Denver, Colorado archdiocese, responded to a question on the topic following a presentation he made at April 8 at an event sponsored by the University of Notre Dame Right to Life Club. Indiana Senate OKs Bill for Reporting Abortions on Teen Girls
Indiana Right to Life is applauding the Indiana Senate for passing a bill yesterday that would help ensure abortions are reported when done on teenage girls who are apparently victims of statutory rape. The Senate approved House Bill 1474 by a 48-0 vote and the bill carries provisions that Indiana s abortion reporting requirements be amended to require that any abortion done on a girl under the age of 14 be reported to the department of child services within three days of the abortion in order to streamline the reporting of child sexual abuse.
