Battling Big Abortion

Much debate has occurred over the last several weeks regarding the possible defunding of Planned Parenthood. Advocates of Planned Parenthood have resorted to scare tactics and argue that necessary services won't be available to those who need it if the abortion giant is denied government funds. This is far from the truth, as we will see in today's guest commentary, written by Congressman Mike Pence.

Contraception manufacturer beset with lawsuits, investigation over device

Life Site News
Over 700 lawsuits against Merck Pharmaceuticals are moving forward in U.S. court, even as the company is fending off accusations of ethical violations for its attempts to market the NuvaRing birth control device overseas, without making mention of its risks. The lawsuits allege serious injury and death caused by the use of the NuvaRing - a small ring which is inserted into the vagina for three weeks, then removed for a week and reinserted. It sends a constant flow of hormones into the body in order to suppress fertility. The device was approved by the FDA in 2001 and acquired by Merck in 2009 when it merged with pharmaceutical giant Schering-Plough Corp. Merck reported $559 million in NuvaRing sales last year.
Pro-life youth mobilize at street fair to say no to Planned Parenthood and abortion

Live Action

We live in a town with a predominant Hispanic population; I found it interesting that they stuck with the Sanger playbook - they were staffed by Hispanic women, one who even brought her child. It was clear what was happening. Our town does not have a Planned Parenthood; this was their first step in. By appearing benign, even warm and child friendly, they were marketing themselves strictly as a community woman's health organization - the word "abortion" was not to be found in their repertoire. Many families passing by had no idea what their true objective was. They were innocently letting their children take candy and helping themselves to a promotional pin.

Good Friday shock: Aborted baby parts found exposed in clinic parking lot

Life Site News

Police in El Paso, Texas say they will not investigate an abortion clinic after the dismembered remains of an aborted baby were found were in the clinic's parking lot. Hilltop Family Planning Clinic offers abortion up to 15 weeks, and since abortion is legal, police say they will not investigate further. Any concerns about the improper disposal of human remains must instead be passed along to the Texas Health Department. Clinic staff have denied any wrongdoing or responsibility.
