WEST CHESTER, Penn., April 20, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Theology of the Body for Teens has made its way all over the country, giving teens an authentic sense of self. This dynamic program for high school students has opened up a life-giving vision for teens of love and sexuality as God intended them to be, effectively helping to renew a generation of Catholic youth. Equipped with the truth of God's design in their male and female identity, many of these teens are preparing to venture out as individuals and adults, able to influence their peers at colleges and universities, and later in their chosen professions.
Desiring to assist these motivated and faithful teens, Ascension Press has announced the Theology of the Body Essay Contest. Any and all high school students who can summarize how the Theology of the Body has impacted them, specifically as young men or women, have the chance to win scholarships toward their college or university educations. There is a Young Men's Category and a Young Women's category. There will be a Grand Prize, 2nd place, and 3rd place winner in each category (a total of six winners). Additionally, Ascension Press will be donating gift cards to the winners' school or parish/church. "Every day we see the Theology of the Body for Teens program changing lives and impacting the way teens understand God's plan for their sexuality," says Matthew Pinto, the president of Ascension Press. "With this scholarship, we hope to encourage high school students to embrace that richness in John Paul II's extraordinary teaching." Essays must be submitted to program@ascensionpress.com by May 23rd, 2011. Winners will be announced on Ascension Thursday -- June 2nd, 2011. Detailed information on eligibility, rules, and participation is available at www.tobforteens.com. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
