VATICAN CITY, January 15, 2013 – The immense crowd that invaded the streets of Paris on Sunday, January 13, to demonstrate against the legalization of “gay” marriage planned by the Hollande presidency, was astonishing for the variety of its composition. There were Christians and atheists, Muslims and Jews, conservatives and progressives. There were also homosexuals. All of them united in defense of the natural family made up of father, mother, and children. But the most impressive element, even before the demonstration, was the commonality of vision between Benedict XVI and the chief rabbi of France, Gilles Bernheim, in expostulating the reasons for the protest:
