Dear Deacon John,
I just got out of jail and wanted to send you a quick update.  Yes, jail.This morning, I gathered with seven other pro-life leaders for a sit-in at John Boehner's Capitol Hill office to demand that he schedule a vote on a bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks gestation. Within an hour of arriving, we were arrested by the Capitol Hill Police, taken into custody, and forced to pay hundreds of dollars in bail money for our release. Deacon John, will you pitch in a much-needed contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or more to Operation Rescue right now to help us continue the fight in the face of this brutal opposition from our "friends" in the GOP? You see, John Boehner just made it crystal clear that he has no regard for the pro-life movement. We were at his office to demand that he schedule a vote on the 20-week abortion ban that turncoat Rep. Renee Ellmers torpedoed a few weeks ago.
But rather than speaking with us, Speaker Boehner opted to have us arrested and thrown in prison! I've been saying for years that we can't let these Washington politicians fight our battles for us, and this is exactly why. When the time comes for them to stand on principle, cowards like John Boehner don't just run from the fight. They shoot us in the back as they flee. It's absolutely imperative that we keep fighting in spite of this assault. We must continue standing in the gap for innocent pre-born children when John Boehner and his allies won't. Please pitch in whatever you possibly can right now. I won't let this arrest slow me down as I fight for this bill. In fact, I'm more motivated than ever. And I hope you'll agree. Operation Rescue is going to continue fighting for a nationwide ban on abortions after 20 weeks, and ultimately a nationwide ban on abortions altogether. And in the meantime, we're still working tirelessly to expose abortionists across the country for the butchers they are and put them out of business.
