From CMMB: Good News For You Today!

Jenifer was so weak when she first arrived, she refused to eat. Nurses inserted a nasogastric tube into her nose to ensure she received the nourishment she desperately needed.

"I don't think there is anything quite as difficult as seeing a toddler so weak with hunger that they can't even find the energy to smile."

Carrie Flaherty, volunteer nurse, remembers when she first saw Jenifer on the ward: "She was so malnourished I could see the outline of nearly every bone of her tiny body. At 19 months, she was only 6.6 kg (14.5 lbs)." The average weight for a child this age in the US is 24 lbs.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." - Matthew 25:35
Thanks to supporters like you, the hospital had the critical antibiotics and formulas Jenifer so desperately needed, and after a few days, she began to gain weight and was much more interactive. Eventually she pulled out the tube and started to drink out of a bottle.

Today, one of our generous friends is matching all gifts. That means your donation will be doubled and more children, like Jenifer, will receive the critical healthcare and medicines they need to live healthier lives. And healthier lives means happier, more meaningful lives for mothers and children, like Jenifer and her mother.
DOUBLE MY GIFT
Sincerely,
