From CMMB: How Can You Prevent Death From Treatable Diseases?

Malaria, an easily treatable disease, is the leading cause of death in South Sudan.
Worldwide, malaria kills over 1 million people every year.
Viola was just a baby when her mother died from malaria.

Amina had been suffering from severe headaches for days, using traditional remedies, but nothing was working. By the time she reached the hospital, it was too late. Richard recalls the terrible day his wife and the mother of their children died:

"My wife was unconscious by the time we reached the hospital. She was diagnosed with severe malaria. They gave her medicine, but it didn't work. She never woke up again."
"We miss her every day. I just pray, hoping God will take away some of the pain. I pray especially for our children. What is life without a mother?" - Richard, South Sudan
Richard is now raising his young family alone and wants to protect them. "It was malaria that killed my wife. So I have to do what I can to ensure that it doesn't cause more pain to my family. I want to keep my children safe by sleeping under mosquito nets and seeking medical care if they get sick."
Malaria kills more than 200 people every day. You can help to ensure that families like Richard's have access to mosquito nets, quality healthcare, and essential medications that keep them alive and healthy.

Through May 31st, one of our generous friends is matching all gifts, which means your donation will be doubled! Your donation will reach even more women, children, and families who will benefit from your love and compassion.
