STATEN ISLAND, NY, Feb. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said today that both backers and opponents of Roe v. Wade should support SB 92, a bill that would require a doctor to be available for an in-person consultation one day prior to performing an abortion.
"Backers of Roe v. Wade frequently talk about abortion as a decision between a woman and her physician," said Fr. Pavone, "but the abortionist and the woman are strangers. Her physician is not involved. There's a gap between the rhetoric and the reality of what happens in an abortion clinic. SB 92 simply highlights the enormity of that gap."
SB 92 will be voted upon Wednesday by the state Senate Health and Human Services Committee.

Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
