[MaryVitamin] Fourth Dolor

Mary Vitamin for April 1st

Topic: Fourth Dolor of Our Lady
Our Lady meets Jesus on the way to CalvaryThe Fourth Station (1024x768)

Quote:
"But the sacrilege that day in the streets of Jerusalem! Mary's woe is simply unimaginable."
Father Faber, The Foot of the Cross, (Tan Books) 213.

Meditation:
Our Lady never tired of treating Her Son with reverence. "The reverence only grew more reverent from custom." (Faber, 212) To see the cruelty of the soldiers and the crowd caused Her unspeakable pain; the pain that sacrilege causes to the saints. (Faber, 211)

Resolution:
I will try to imitate our Lady's reverence toward Her Son - her customary, untiring, and continual reverence. Today I will try to keep the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in my mind by remembering the presence of the Lord in the Tabernacle and then saying my usual prayers.

"Never omit to go at these times in thought, to greet Jesus, whose presence is so much forgotten by so many of our Catholic people."
St. Peter Julian Eymard, My Eucharistic Day, 13.

Marian Vow:
The words of the Angel of Fatima, St. Michael:

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. And by the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

There is nothing so terrible to bear if we remember what outrages and sacrilege the Lord endures. If we offer up our sufferings, it makes a difference to Him. It is Our Lady's message to her children.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
