Nice Story: Chick-fil-A chief says key to company’s success is putting God first

 — Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy said his company isn't recession-proof in spite of its continued growth during the nation's worst economic climate since The Great Depression.

Instead, Cathy, who visited the new Clemson store and the Seneca location Wednesday, prefers to use the phrase "Recession Resistant."

"God has really blessed our business, and he makes that promise to anyone when we acknowledge his ways," Cathy said, taking a brief moment for an interview during a hectic visit. "He has made that promise to our nation when it says 'In God We Trust' on our coins, and we should place our faith in God — not in our 40lK or stock market.

"He will help us make smart choices."
