French Delegate to the Walk Interviewed
By Gibbons Cooney
San Francisco's 2010 Walk for Life West Coast was the largest ever. Informed independent sources place the number of marchers at over 40,000. Eva Muntean, co-founder of the Walk said "The 2010 Walk far exceeded our expectations. In addition to the sheer number of marchers, the most ever, this year's Walk had an international aspect that we had not seen before. The culture of death recognizes no borders—and the culture of life must be international, too."
This year saw a very encouraging exchange of pro-life leaders between the January 17 Marche Pour le Respect de la Vie in Paris and the January 23 Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco. Walk co-founder Dolores Meehan attended and spoke at the Paris Marche, and M. Paul Genoux-Defermont attended and spoke at the San Francisco Walk. Before M. Genoux-Defermont returned home, he gave a few minutes to California Catholic Daily. Prior to the interview, Ms. Meehan told us a little about Mr. Ginoux-Defermont "Paul is a retired naval officer who has been involved in the French pro-life movement for more than 30 years. He has worked tirelessly and patiently to build up the movement through the hard work of logistics, facilitating communication between pro-lifers and potential pro-lifers and media outreach."
