CASTING A VOTE WITH CHRIST AT YOUR SIDE
Judie Brownby Judie Brown
St. Paul, in his Second Letter to Timothy, writes, "The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends. But you must keep control of yourself in all circumstances." (2 Timothy 4:3-5) Across our nation, tomorrow is voting day-a day to do something proactive and take a pro-life stand, a day to speak for preborn babies and for life. Judie Brown explains why voters should always follow Catholic teaching-not necessarily Catholic politicians.

The Department of Health Services regulations cover such issues as allowing only physicians to conduct surgical abortions and setting requirements for providing care after the procedure. The physician requirement means nurse-practitioners may no longer perform abortions. A Maricopa County Superior Court judge on Wednesday refused to allow a last-minute lawsuit to be filed to block the regulations.

Contraception could be free under health care law
Palm Beach Post

WASHINGTON - Fifty years after the pill, another birth control revolution may be on the horizon: free contraception for women in the U.S., thanks to the new health care law. That could start a shift toward more reliable - and expensive - forms of birth control that are gaining acceptance in other developed countries. But first, look for a fight over social mores.
