Contraception. Again.

Michael is so right about this! I remember going to a meeting back in the 70's at the parish on Long Island right after Pope Paul VI published Humanae Vitae and was shocked when the priest giving the conference said: "Oh, the pope is just an old man in Italy and what does he know about married life, you folks can continue to use contraception; just go to confession about it!"

Talk about confusion. When I went to confession about contraception, the priest (a different one) said "use your own conscience!" What a scandal! As an ignorant Catholic I started to look up what the Church really taught and made up my "own conscience" by never using contraception again!!! Blessed be the Holy Spirit who enlightened my mind to the Truth!
