Gov. Sean Parnell issues statement on “inalienable right to life”
Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell issued a statement which was read aloud on Jan. 21 by a representative from his office at the 12th Annual Interdenominational Prayer Service for those wounded by abortion. The event marking the 39th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion, drew more than 50 participants and took place at the Anchorage Memorial Cemetery.
The governor noted that “The inalienable right to life is bestowed upon each of us by our Creator, and we cherish the timeless truth that every child is a gift of life, from the moment of conception.”
He added that “On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we stand together and recognize the value of human life and pray for those wounded by abortion.”

Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
