HITTING ON WOMEN WITH DEADLY FORCE - By Judie Brown

The phrase “hitting on women” usually applies to males whose tactics are designed to appeal to a female. The idea is to convince her of his “sincerity” rather than his true agenda. Once she has realized that all of his words were mere lines, he is now, in her eyes, what in my time would have been called a cad. In today’s lingo, we would call him a sleaze.

But that’s not the sort of thing I was thinking about when I read the latest news from the birth control zealots. As you will soon see, female adolescents as young as 12 can be targets for double-dealing in more ways that one.

According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), teens are the most likely group to benefit from the insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs), since 80 percent of pregnancies among teens are unintended. Further, teens cannot be relied upon to be faithful in their use of “short-acting methods, like the birth control pill, patch, ring, or shot.” The report quotes experts who claim that long-acting methods of contraception, like the matchstick-shaped IUD, are twice as effective, and so prevent pregnancy and the emotional distress that would follow if the pregnant girl had an abortion. Of course Planned Parenthood, as usual, had a sob story to include in the news report as well.

Nowhere in the report, however, are the dangers of the IUD discussed. Neither are the unknown side-effects of inserting an IUD into the body of a still-developing young woman. And clearly there is no mention of the fact that an IUD can kill a preborn child prior to implantation.

Pro-life expert John Willke, M.D., points out another fact: “The IUD is not considered safe for women if they have not first given birth to at least one child, have a history of or had breast cancer, or have multiple sexual partners.”

In other words, the IUD is not suitable for adolescents. But that won’t stop Planned Parenthood and its allies. As if this were not bad enough, we have learned that, in addition to the IUD, sterilizations are on the menu. As it turns out, the Obama contraceptive mandate is designed to offer sterilizations to teen girls without parental consent. According to one report, “Every health plan except those held by houses of worship conceivably must not only cover contraceptives, but sterilization for children as young as twelve.”

And while it may be true that some states require parental consent prior to giving contraception to, or sterilizing, underage women, this is not true of every state. Further, it really isn’t hard to imagine the federal government, in its sweeping takeover of healthcare, denying parental consent across the board so that the Obama healthcare law can be “consistent.”

Scary? Yes. Because what it means to us and to our children is that the government itself, along with Planned Parenthood and other powerful entities, will be hitting on our teens—and we will not know about it until it is too late. And yes, the advocacy of these dangerous practices for children can result in death—death of souls, death of preborn babies, and death of those who naively buy the lies.

This is not just American children being targeted. We know that young men and women around the world are in the sights of Melinda Gates and her pals within the U.S. government’s Agency for International Development. As Father Shenan Boquet, president of Human Life International, wrote,

The responsibility of spreading the truth of the Gospel of Life falls on each and every one of us. Parents who have children cannot be afraid to talk with them about these issues, since those trying to influence them in the other direction obviously are not. Clergy need to speak often from the pulpit about the Church’s beautiful teachings on human sexuality and of living the faith in a world with opposing values. There are ways for each of us to reach the same young people that Gates is targeting and speak with them about God’s plan for our lives.

As Americans, as parents, and as God-fearing people, we must stand and defend our children. The powers that use deadly force to hit on our daughters and sons—and our granddaughters and grandsons—are not going to stop until we make it clear that we will not tolerate it a minute longer.

This is not someone else’s challenge. It is ours.
