Lifeissues.net: clear thinking about crucial issues

Dear Friends For Life,

Planned Parenthood heads back to school, and their pockets overflowing with money. As you prepare to send your children back to school, beware! Planned Parenthood is heading back to school, too - with its pockets overflowing with taxpayer money, poised to target your children with its failed "comprehensive" sex education. The abortion giant is using a new CDC report - one that shows high rates of oral sex among young people - to push "comprehensive sex education" that is notorious for its promotion of oral sex. Read more here.

Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through the Blessed Mother: St. Louis de Montfort begins the introduction to his Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin by saying, "It was through the Blessed Virgin Mary that Jesus came into the world, and it is also through her that he must reign in the world." He goes on to say: "Every day, from one end of the earth to the other, all things preach and all things proclaim the wondrous Virgin Mary. The nine choirs of angels, men and women of every age, rank and religion, both good and evil, even the very devils themselves are compelled by the force of truth, willingly or unwillingly, to call her blessed."

How efficacious, then, it must be for us to call upon Our Lady to lead us in this horrific battle against the forces of evil that have built their fortress in the Planned Parenthood facilities. She can and will bid the angels to do battle with the demons that penetrate these places of evil, and she herself will bring about the victory, because it was indeed, through the Blessed Virgin Mary, that Jesus came into the world, and it is also through her that he must reign in the world. Let us run to her, then, and beg for an end to Planned Parenthood.

God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

ITEM #1: New survey will gauge public opinion on euthanasia

When doctors removed a respirator from a 76-year-old woman known only as Kim, it sparked a national debate in South Korea about choosing to die, or not, and who can make that choice.

****************************************

ITEM #2: Abortionist: 'Conscience compels abortion provision'

Comment: The original article also mentioned conscience rights and assisted suicide. Unlike abortion, euthanasia also includes such issues as deliberate dehydration and terminal sedation that have no obvious bright line. Additionally, such euthanasia issues are defended as ethical and lawful and that gives little if any protection for the conscience rights of those of us who refuse to kill our already born patients. Conscience rights are not just about abortion. -Nancy Valko, RN

****************************************

ITEM #3: New York Times Opinion Writer: We Need Death Panels

We need death panels. That's what the technocratic class believes. We need to do away with the expensive and nonproductive rather than waste money caring for them.

****************************************

ITEM #4: Assessing the needs of Cambodia's rural poor

A community-based Rural Development Project is using a participatory method to more accurately identify poor and vulnerable households to ensure aid reaches those who need it most, in this video by GIZ Cambodia.

****************************************

ITEM #5: Baby With 3 Percent Chance to Live Heads Home, Mom Refused Abortion

Out of England comes the miracle story of Jacob Reed, a baby whom doctors gave just a three percent chance to live. Now, he his home with his family after beating the odds and a six month hospital stay.

****************************************

ITEM #6: An Open Letter from a Former Muslim: Enough is Enough

Muslims and many world leaders would like us to believe that Islam is a religion of peace. Yet every time Muslim extremists raise their hands with impunity to lynch someone over claims of "blasphemy," every time they begin murderous riots because someone has "insulted" their prophet or religion by speaking the truth, they show the true face of Islam and prove the very claims they try to silence. The goal of the Muslim extremists is to frighten and intimidate us because they know that by taking away our freedom of expression they can control us. They use these tactics because, like the schoolyard bully, they can see that they work.

****************************************

ITEM #7 On outlawing abortion, contraception, and sodomy

The civil government has the authority and the obligation to enact laws prohibiting abortion, contraception and sodomy as these are harmful to the individual as well as to society. Government - be it a democratic republic, monarchy, and so on - exists for one purpose: to protect the common good. When someone says you cannot legislate morality, they are correct. The law does not create the moral imperative; it must honor and respect it.

****************************************

ITEM #8: Man and Woman, Marriage and the Family

Man and woman as husband and wife are not only to help and encourage each othe, they help and encourage their child, ... for many of life's experiences can be difficult. The family is the place where comfort, love and faith are expressed to encourage each other to recover from disappointments and begin anew. A father or mother's hug, kiss, and smile help the child know they are loved. The family is where home is, where the child as well as the mother and father feel safe, loved and supported in their life. Husband and wife each seek in their own way to nurture the flame of love given to them by God and striving to bring happiness to each other within the home.

****************************************

ITEM #9: Of Mice and Men: New Study Touts a Male Contraceptive

Because the new contraceptive appears to work in lower animals, doesn't mean that it will work in men. There may be subtle health changes in men that were not apparent in mice. There may be epigenetic consequences for their children. There may be long-term consequences for the men that would only become apparent over years, far beyond the duration of this study. Even damaged sperm may lead to the conception of children so genetically compromised that they are not capable of surviving more than a few days in the womb. That would make the new drug not a contraceptive, but an abortifacient.

****************************************

ITEM #10: British Soap Posts Poll On Whether Characters Should Abort Down Syndrome Baby

Disappointing isn't a strong enough word.

****************************************

ITEM #11: Right to Health Care, Duty to Die?

Conscience rights for health care providers and religious organizations are being dismantled, most recently by the Obama administration's Health and Human Services department mandating so-called free birth control including contraceptives, sterilizations, and abortifacients as "essential preventive health care" regardless of religious, moral, or even medical objections.

ITEM #12: INSIGHTS by Dianne N Irving, Ph.D.

(a). Irving Response to "Bioethics under attack in new book"

Summary: Canadian physician and bioethicist Dr. Koch's new book on "bioethics" is yet another welcome attempt to educate the public about the damage that has been done for far too long by "bioethics" - not just in the field of medicine, but across the board.

(b).
An alternative to surrogacy? Swedish doctors transplant uterus

[Note: (1) One does have to wonder about the exponential rise in infertility in both women and men around the world over the last 3 or 4 decades, given that it has been long documented that the use of contraceptives (hormones causing "spontaneous" chemical abortions, other hormonal abnormalities, cancers), abortions (scar tissue, cancers), sperm damage, and even IVF/ART techniques themselves (scar tissue, other hormonal abnormalities) are clearly documented causes of infertility - and of cancer. Why not remove those causes of infertility as "preventive medicine", and restore natural fertility (at least for the next generations) - so that people who are so desperate to "have a family" can succeed without all the drugs, surgeries and surrogates? Isn't it odd that on the one hand we have those desperate to have abortions to get rid of their children, and on the other hand those who will do anything to have children? (2) How are the centuries-old and current eugenic/gnostic population control movements involved in all this sudden infertility? (3) The surgery/research discussed in this article seems rather extreme, as does a lot of research these days. Could "infertility" be simply a cover for getting experience in more savory research that the public would probably not sanction or pay for - covers like the supposedly beneficent claims to vulnerable patient populations to "cure all infertility", "cure all diseases", "cure world hunger", "cure global warming", "cure whatever" that would by now seem improbable? How is all this genetic "engineering" research involved in causing cancer, infertility, etc.? Couldn't all that money, all those research grants and efforts be used instead to really tackle legitimate problems, and do it openly and ethically with far less risks? Time to ask hard questions, demand answers and accountability. Note: this article is not about the first womb transplant, but the first mother-daughter womb transplant. -DNI]
