Report seeks probe of Planned Parenthood Washington Times A report released Thursday on the Planned Parenthood Federation of America called for lawmakers to investigate what the pro-life researchers called a "scandal-ridden" group. Researchers with Americans United for Life (AUL) have examined 20 years of records and found "systemic" financial irregularities and other abuses in Planned Parenthood, said Charmaine Yoest, AUL president and chief executive. "It's really, really time to take a very hard look at [Planned Parenthood] and what it is that they are doing with our money," she said. |
Planned Parenthood affiliates in Austin, Waco may merge ExaminerThe Planned Parenthood affiliates in Austin and Waco may be heading toward a merger. Under an agreement approved by the boards of the two organizations, the senior staff in Austin is managing the affiliate in Waco. Furthermore, the agreement launches an evaluation of a potential marriage between the two nonprofits in 2012. "As a merged affiliate, the combined $11 million nonprofit would expand its impact and ability to provide health care and education in Central Texas," according to an announcement about the management changes. |

The family planning funding was cut by 66 percent, affecting medical care facilities and hospitals throughout Texas. |
