Web editors respond to family groups' concerns

Family-friendly organizations expressed concern yesterday over a website linked by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) describing children as "sexual beings." By late afternoon, the language on the site had been changed.  On Wednesday, the site said, "Children are human beings and therefore sexual beings," and discussed topics, such as when children become "curious about sex." Late Thursday, the reference to kids as sexual beings had been deleted.

Study: Birth control not stopping unplanned pregnancies, abortions

A new study conducted by a former research arm of Planned Parenthood shows the policies of the abortion business promoting contraception and birth control to poor women aren't working, as unplanned pregnancy rates are rising. The Guttmacher Institute released a new study Wednesday showing considerable decline between 1981 and 1994 in the overall unplanned pregnancy rate has continued recently and remains relatively stable at 5 percent of American women having an unintended pregnancy annually. However, the rate has increased dramatically among poor women, while among higher-income women it has continued to decrease substantially.
Another Planned Parenthood manager quits and converts to pro-life

In a story with clear echoes of the now famous conversion of former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, four months ago a manager at a Planned Parenthood facility in Sherman, Texas resigned from her position with the abortion giant and is now speaking out about her pro-life conversion.  In a press release from 40 Days for Life-Dallas, Ramona Trevino explains that although the particular Planned Parenthood where she worked did not perform surgical abortions, she was struggling "with [her] conscience . . . on contraception, abortion and [her] role in it all."
