Human Beings Are Never Vegetables. Ever. By Chelsea Zimmerman What happens when human beings are no longer considered human beings or valued as such? When people are ill, disabled, or otherwise considered "damaged" or "imperfect," they often seem to lose the status of being a human being. And that is where our society has gone incredibly wrong, for every human life is precious----whether that life is waiting to be born or whether that life is lying in a hospital bed. Georgetown Scandal - Take Action! Catholic universities have an obligation to uphold and revere the teachings of Christ and His Church----and to instruct others how to do the same. When a high-ranking member of thegovernment----who claims to be Catholic but does not follow the teachings of the Church-is thrust upon students, there must be an outcry. Georgetown University has invited none other than the pro-abortion "Catholic" secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Kathleen Sebelius, to be the speaker at the diploma ceremony for Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute on Friday, May 18. Please e-mail Cardinal Wuerl, chancery@adw.org, and politely request that he publicly advise Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute to withdraw Secretary Sebelius as speaker at the diploma ceremony. Please also sign the petition at the Cardinal Newman Society's website: http://www.georgetownscandal.com/.

HEADLINES | | Life News A new study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention in February reported a very statistically significant increased risk of breast cancer for women with previous abortions as opposed to women who have never had one. The study, consisting of 1,351 women and led by researcher Ai-Ren Jiang, reported a statistically significant 1.52-fold elevation in risk for women with induced abortions and a "significant dose-response relationship between (the risk) for breast cancer and number of induced abortions," meaning the risk climbed with a higher number of previous abortions. |
| Ignore dad's 'ultimatum,' choose life: Pro-life group runs TV ads on BET LifeSiteNews A pro-life media organization has launched a media blitz aimed at young black women who are considering abortion. Heroic Media began airing a new commercial entitled "Ultimatum" last Tuesday. It will play more than 60 times during May and June on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and gives viewers a toll-free phone number that will connect them with crisis pregnancy centers and other life-saving resources. The TV spot features a black woman sitting on a set of stairs as she tells women, "So, this pregnancy wasn't planned. It's gonna be OK, really." The ad contrasts the unquestioning love of a child with the fickle affections of a boyfriend who gave his child's mother an ultimatum: "It's me or the baby." | |
