Mother's Day Adoption Mass This Sunday
The Mother's Day Adoption Mass will be celebrated this Sunday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Cathedral, Scranton. Bishop Emeritus James C. Timlin will be the principal celebrant. All are invited to attend. Catholic Television: CTV will broadcast the Mass live.
This liturgy fosters awareness of the benefits of adoption as an alternative to abortion and a means to prevent child abuse. The Mass is co-sponsored by Catholic Social Services, which provides a wide range of adoption and foster care services. Participants in the liturgy will include adoptees, adoptive parents and professionals who facilitate the adoption process.
