Our nation is about
to witness a historic visit from our Holy Father, Pope Francis. His
spirit is one of charity and love for all people. Let us pray that, like
Christ, we can love and serve others with gratitude and humility. May
the Holy Father's visit help us to see Christ in each person and strengthen the world's love and respect for every person.

- Today, take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator.
- On
September 22nd, the day of Pope Francis' arrival in the United States,
offer a rosary for him and for all those who will be in his presence.
- Join a virtual pilgrimage with prayers for each stop of Pope Francis' journey while in the U.S.

"Our son Charlie* was born with Down syndrome
in 2007. My training as a developmental psychologist had focused on the
deficits faced by people with disabilities and how to deal with those
challenges. But I soon found that it was of limited use for
understanding my own son. He certainly has challenges that come with his
diagnosis, but they make up only a small part of life with our
wonderful little boy..."
