| Planned Parenthood postures for bigger place at the trough By Rita Diller A hog never backs away from the trough, and neither does Planned Parenthood. Raging like a boar in a perpetual feeding frenzy, the abortion giant obsessively gnashes, grunts, bullies, and pushes, caring not who it tramples to get a bigger share of the spoils. Witness Planned Parenthood of the Heartland's latest ploy in Tulsa, Oklahoma to add a few medical services in order to gain a bigger place at the government trough, via Obamacare and spin-off funding. Scientists: Harmful hormones from birth control pill can't be filtered out in sewage treatment LifeSiteNews
Scientists at the University of Aberdeen studying sheep maintained on pastures fertilized with sewage sludge (treated waste derived from human sewage processing plants) found a high incidence of abnormalities in the animals. The abnormalities are being attributed to the presence of man-made hormones, particularly as those found in the contraceptive pill, in the treated waste. Professor Paul Fowler and Dr Stewart Rhind said exposure to the chemicals affected the structure or function of testes, ovaries, uteri, parts of the brain, and thyroid and adrenal glands of sheep foetuses. In adult sheep changes in bone structure, the testes and offspring behavior were observed. |

Hobby Lobby sues Obama admin over pro-abortion HHS Mandate LifeNews
Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately held retail chain with more than 500 arts and crafts stores in 41 states, filed a lawsuit today against the Obama administration over its HHS mandate. | MEPs build pressure against embryonic stem cell research Europolitics
Four members of the European Parliament announced, on 12 September in Strasbourg, that they planned to challenge the legality of the next research framework programme, Horizon 2020, if it includes EU funding for research on human embryos and embryonic stem cells. The MEPs intend to raise two key questions related to the patentability of research results on human stem cells and the funding of projects under way. "Life cannot be taken away to be marketed," according to Klaus Gärditz, law professor at Bonn University in Germany. "In a 2011 judgement, the EU Court of Justice held that the procedure for collecting embryonic stem cells is incompatible with human dignity," continued Gärditz. "This human dignity, defined in Article 1 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights, is a primary right. Research on embryonic stem cells must therefore be excluded by substantive law. If certain prohibited areas are subsidised, the entire framework programme is in danger. The risk to European research is huge." |
