The Cardinal and the Impudent
By Judie Brown
Various statements attributed to Cardinal Timothy Dolan continue to create concern among Catholics and frustration among those of us who can see the double standard that is being applied when the theology of tolerance becomes an avenue for a seat at the table of human power. One of the pro-life movement's most stalwart legal scholars shares his views with Judie Brown on this burning subject. Read today's commentary for more.

Ethics complaint filed against DA Howe for misconduct in Planned Parenthood criminal case
Operation Rescue
A formal ethics complaint has been filed against Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe alleging professional misconduct in Howe's mishandling of the 107-count criminal case against Comprehensive Health of Planned Parenthood in Overland Park, Kansas. That case was originally filed in 2007 by Howe's predecessor, Phill Kline after years of investigation and Sebelius-era obstruction.

Women who seek abortions 'seven times' more likely
to be abused
International Science Times
Women who seek abortions are seven times more likely to be abused than women who do not, according to a new study published in the Journal of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care. Researchers also found that poorer women were more likely to terminate their pregnancy than more affluent women. Approximately 9,500 women completed a questionnaire distributed by staff at abortion clinics in 2008. Seven percent of the women surveyed admitted to being physically or sexually abused by the father of their child. National surveys have found that one percent of U.S. women are abused by their spouse----meaning women who seek abortions are seven times as likely to have been abused.

Learning from the panic over population growth
HLI World Watch
The contrast is striking. On one side, we have those telling us that there are too many people in the world, and that for the sake of "women's health" and "sustainability," abortion and contraception must be basic rights-perhaps even an obligation for some----if we are to achieve sustainability in this world. On the other side are nations who are ahead of the curve, already achieving the so----called "success" of population reduction, that are in a panic to reverse course.
