A Glimpse of Hope in the Dark Morass
By Michael Hichborn
With many people out to "change" or to impose their own beliefs on the Church, it is easy to see why some may be very confused----not only about what the Church teaches, but about what they should believe. The most salient way to eliminate this confusion is for the leaders of the Church to stand firmly and publicly for all the tenets of the Church and let it be known to all that the Church will not compromise in situations that go directly against Church teaching. Higher death rates after abortion found in U.S., Finland,
and Denmark
Elliot Institute
A new study of the medical records for nearly half a million women in Denmark reveals significantly higher maternal death rates following abortion compared to delivery. This finding has confirmed similar large-scale population studies conducted in Finland and the United States, but contradicts the widely held belief that abortion is safer than childbirth. . . . Overall, the study found that women who had first-trimester abortions had an 89 percent higher risk of death within the first year and an 80 percent higher risk of death over the full time period studied.

Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon opened their doors on Tuesday with their brand new, 20,000 square foot health center in the Glenwood area. It is the first major construction in the area in three decades. "We built this facility to allow us to expand by 50 percent for family planning clients, so that means we can see an additional 10,000 clients," said Cynthia Pappas, CEO and President of Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon.

[T]he nation's largest abortion provider held a rally for women at an outdoor plaza in downtown Charlotte Tuesday afternoon. A large stage was erected, as one would expect to see at a music festival, and huge banners made by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund proclaimed "Women Are Watching!" . . . Pictures posted by [Mary Katherine] Ham to Twitter show a crowd of less than a hundred people in the plaza, who seemed outnumbered by security and police that were on hand. The crowd of participants on the stage also seemed to outnumber the attendees.
