SEVERN, Md., Sept. 13, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Eight area 40 Days for Life campaigns will begin in Maryland and Washington DC on September 26th, starting 40 days of Prayer and Fasting, Peaceful and Prayerful Vigil at abortion facilities, and Community Outreach.
But before the 26th, these campaigns will all gather together for a united, statewide Kickoff on September 22nd at 10am. There will be 2 physical locations, in Germantown and in Severn, so everyone has access to a local gathering place.
The event will feature a live webcast between sites and speakers at each location, including 40 Days for Life National Director and Co-founder David Bereit, rising Christian Music Artist Caitlin Jane, Bishop Rozanski from the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Father Leo Patalinghug from Savoring Our Faith, along with special video messages from Gary Bauer of American Values and Matt Maher (Christian Music Artist).
The Maryland Coalition for Life and the local leaders of these campaigns joined together to plan this event. "Bringing people together energizes everyone involved, breeds excitement, and increases participation," said Michael Martelli, Executive Director of the Maryland Coalition for Life. "Instead of individual kickoff events, we got together to hold one giant rally for the entire state. Energy and enthusiasm grows exponentially as more people come together, so we are expecting a whole new level of excitement!"
With the closure of at least 3 abortion facilities in the past two years, new Pregnancy and Resource Centers popping up across the region, abortionists admitting a steady decline in patients, increased church and individual participation, and brand new Abortion Clinic Regulations this July, Maryland is turning away from its long-held reputation as one of the most pro-abortion states in the country. "The culture across America is becoming more Pro-Life by the day, and nowhere is that more evident than in Maryland," said Martelli. "We refuse to allow Maryland to remain the late-term abortion capital of the world, and we will work to change that, one heart and mind at a time."
Campaigns participating in this event include Annapolis, Baltimore, College Park, Easton, Frederick, Germantown, Silver Spring, and Washington DC. For more about this event, visit 2012marylandkickoff.eventbrite.com. For more about 40 Days for Life, visit www.40DaysForLife.com.
