| Dear deaconjohn, A few weeks ago, I sent you a letter from Dr. Ligaya Acosta, our regional director for Asia and Oceania, asking for your prayers and support to defend life in the Philippines. I would like to thank you for your prayers and support in response, and give you an update on the impact you've made. As you're aware, the number one goal of our pro-life missionaries in the Philippines is the defeat of the destructive Reproductive Health (RH) Bill. It's been just over a year since HLI's documentary focusing on this fight first aired, and the threat still looms. While the bill will be just as deadly and damaging as the original RH bill, they're hoping they can fool members of Congress into believing the new legislation will not attack religious freedom, destroy the right to life, and open the gates towards legalizing abortion. But thanks to your generous support, HLI Philippines, under the direction of Dr. Rene Bullecer, is planning a series of events to rally the nation in defense of life. For example, thanks to you, HLI Philippines will be able to organize and sponsor: -The National "Philippines for Life" Congress, November 16-17, 2012 in Cebu City; -The Southern Luzon Marian Congress for Faith & Life, January 11-12, 2013 in Naga City; -HLI National Post Election Pro-Life Leaders Congress, June 14-15, 2013 in Cebu City; -And major pro-life rallies and marches around the Philippines. The Philippines is the greatest stronghold for the defense of life in Asia, and one of the greatest in the world. Your prayers and support are helping to keep abortion illegal in the Philippines, and are crucial in giving the people a voice to battle the Culture of Death.
