Obama Declares Religious Freedom Day As His Admin Denies It
President Barack Obama declared today Religious Freedom Day as his administration is working overtime to deny religious freedom to pro-life Americans who do not want their companies, schools or businesses to pay for drugs that may cause abortions.

While the Obama Administration is furiously working to push the HHS mandate on religious employers, Obama issued a proclamation today calling religious freedom sacred. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/obama-declares-religious-freedom-day-as-his-admin-denies-it/

Obama: Do What We Can to Save One Child, But Infanticide Okay
President Barack Obama today showed the kind of care and regard for human life when it comes to the issue of guns that he never has when it comes to abortion.

The tragedy at Sandy Hook can never be overstated children died and teachers and staff died attempting to keep them save. There are no words that can properly convey how senseless the loss of life was that fateful day in Connecticut. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/obama-do-what-we-can-to-save-one-child-but-infanticide-okay/

Louisiana Named Most Pro-Life State, Washington Most Pro-Abortion
A new report from Americans United for Life, that monitors changes to pro-life laws on abortion and bioethics and end-of-life issues named Louisiana the most pro-life state in the nation. Washington state came in at the bottom of the list of 50 states on abortion.

Both states occupied those spots in the 2012 version of the list. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/louisiana-named-most-pro-life-state-washington-most-pro-abortion/

Abortion: Silencing the Laughter of Generations
It was time to take the family Christmas picture, and I knew I had to seize the moment.

I was six years old, and my prized gift that year was a ventriloquist doll. I grabbed hold of Charlie McCarthy, and, as the shutter snapped, I pretended we were doing the tango. The room erupted in laughter, and I was hooked. My usual gig was the family dinner table. The object of my game was to make my little sister laugh so much that she had to put down her fork and stop eating.. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/abortion-silencing-the-laughter-of-generations/

Planned Parenthood s New Pro-Abortion Ad Campaign, Not In Her Shoes
Last week Planned Parenthood revealed a surprising new strategy, abandonment of the term, pro-choice. Its poll numbers showed 28.5% of voters identify themselves as both or neither:

Planned Parenthood recognizes it already has the blue voters, and that it will never get the red voters, so it is trying to win over the ambivalent middle. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/planned-parenthoods-new-pro-abortion-ad-campaign-not-in-her-shoes/

Red Envelope Day to Send 1.2 Million Pro-Life Messages to Obama
With the recent decision by the Russian government to ban Americans from adopting children from their country, it is becoming more and more difficult for families who wish to provide a child with parents who will love them. While some families are not deterred by this news, they are becoming discouraged, as it is difficult to provide a loving home to children orphaned in America as well.

This morning, USA Today had an article about prospective parents having difficulties adopting children in the United States. The author of the article commented on the difficulties that many families have in even becoming foster parents. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/red-envelope-day-to-send-1-2-million-pro-life-messages-to-obama/

After 40 Years of Abortion, Pro-Lifers Are Making Progress
As the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court s Roe v. Wade decision approaches, there has been a flurry of mainstream-media coverage about the current state of abortion policy in the United States. This past Sunday, Sarah Kliff, of the Washington Post entered the fray. Her article focused on the history of the Allegheny Reproductive Health Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. one of the longest continually operating abortion clinics in the United States. In so doing, Kliff provides some good background about the history of abortion politics, both in Pennsylvania and nationally.http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/after-40-years-of-abortion-pro-lifers-are-making-progress/

NAACP: National Association for the Abortion of Colored People
What better way for an out-of-touch liberal organization to celebrate itself than in the land of make believe? The NAACP s 44th Annual Image Awards honor black imagery churned out by often racist, anti-Christian, perpetually sexist, violent and pornographic Hollywood. Just skim the list of nominees and one is left with an overwhelming feeling: emptiness. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/naacp-national-association-for-the-abortion-of-colored-peopl/

Six Reasons Why Men Can Speak on Abortion
The injustice of abortion is the free choice of a woman who sees it working towards her good. This has lead to the common call for men to remove themselves from the debate surrounding the injustice. It is, after all, a woman s issue. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/six-reasons-why-men-can-speak-on-abortion/

Subsidizing the Slaughter of Innocents: De-Fund Planned Parenthood
During the 2012 election season the American people were subjected to hundreds of campaign ads. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/subsidizing-the-slaughter-of-innocents-de-fund-planned-parenthood/

Connecticut Pro-Lifers Try to Stop Bill to OK Assisted Suicide
Sen. Ed Meyer has introduced S.B. 48, a bill to legalize assisted suicide in Connecticut. Defeating this anti-life bill will be the highest legislative priority of the Family Institute of Connecticut Action in 2013. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/connecticut-pro-lifers-try-to-stop-bill-to-ok-assisted-suicide/

New Mexico Medical Board Ignores How Planned Parenthood Injured Woman
Pro-life advocates in New Mexico are accusing the New Mexico Medical Board of ignoring a botched procedure that took place at a Planned Parenthood clinic. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/new-mexico-medical-board-ignores-how-planned-parenthood-injured-woman/

Embryonic Stem Cell Technique That Doesn t Harm Embryos is Problematic
It happens almost every time. When I write a piece about embryonic stem cell research, I get an e-mail or comment, sometimes polite, most of the time not, that goes something like this, If you were not such a scientifically-ignorant pro-lifer, you would know that Advanced Cell Technology (ACT) can make embryonic stem cells without harming the embryo at all. I am much smarter than you and now that you are enlightened with this revelation, you can support embryonic stem cell research like I do. h. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/embryonic-stem-cell-technique-that-doesnt-harm-embryos-is-problematic/

Quebec, Canada to Redefine Assisted Suicide As Medical Treatment
Assisted suicide is against Canadian federal law, a statute that applies throughout the country. But health care law is governed by the provinces (as I understand it). Hence, Quebec will try and redefine some suicides into a medical treatment as a means of circumventing federal law. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/quebec-canada-to-redefine-assisted-suicide-as-medical-treatment/

The Government has just announced that Baroness Julia Neuberger, a rabbi and former Liberal Democrat health spokesperson, has been appointed to chair the government s inquiry into the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP) (see my blog last week on the LCP). http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/16/julia-neuberger-heading-liverpool-care-pathway-inquiry-is-worrying/
