News from the Trenches: “Her eyes widened with apprehension”


Family Planning Associates, San Diego, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, 7:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.



The scowling abortionist sped his car in to the parking lot of the furniture mall that houses the busiest abortion mill in San Diego. Luis, a sidewalk counselor, noted that the time was 8:05 a.m. -- the slaughter of the unborn would soon begin. The counselor was comforted by the fact that this morning there would be several prayer warriors (eleven by the end of the morning) storming heaven with their prayers, and two other sidewalk counselors. 

A few minutes later a middle-aged Filipino woman drove in accompanied by a teenaged Hispanic girl. Luis gave them a brochure that contained excerpts from several malpractice cases against the abortionist and went over some of the cases. They listened attentively and thanked the counselor, but still entered the mill. 

The sidewalk counselor next spoke to a young man driving a car with Mexican plates. The driver had a deep facial scar that ran from his forehead to his jaw line. He told the counselor that he had been here before and had received a brochure about the abortionist then. When the counselor questioned the man about who he brought to the mill before and knowing the dangers why he would bring someone else, his answers were obvious lies. Perhaps this man brings clients to abortuaries for a commission.
