There were 23 prayer warriors throughout the morning, including a few small children, plus two sidewalk counselors.
Anne arrived at the mill and saw a young couple sitting in a car near where she usually stands on the Carroll Road entrance. They looked visibly sad, and so she tried to talk with them, but they said they already received information. After checking the main entrance, she came back and the couple was standing outside of their car and hugging. She tried to talk with them, but they gave no eye contact and immediately went up the stairs to the mill. Sometime later the young man came out and Anne was able to talk with him. He told Anne that his girlfriend already made up her mind and that it was not easy, but that was what they decided. She told him it was not too late to go up and get her, and there were other options available for this young woman, as well as help from various organizations. He said he would do what he could and drove toward the mill, but never went in.
