Big Government Kagan Gets a Pass

Senate Judiciary Committee Votes to Bring Her Vote to Senate Floor Despite Grave Concerns

WASHINGTON, July 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- By a vote of 13-6, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to allow Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court to move forward for a full Senate vote.

Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America (CWA), said, "Today's vote is just another example of how out of step Washington insiders are with the values of most Americans. I find it appalling that Kagan refused to acknowledge that we 'are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights.' What kind of radical can't endorse the Declaration of Independence?

"In addition, as dean of Harvard Law and as an advisor to the Clinton administration, Elena Kagan went to bat for pro-abortion groups, made Constitutional law an elective course but international law a required one, and abused the military on her campus in favor of homosexual activism.

"She even puts the NRA on the same level as the Ku Klux Klan, calling both 'dangerous groups.' Americans simply do not hold these outrageous views. Elena Kagan is an extremist and will be yet another activist judge dedicated to the liberal Obama agenda above all. The committee has shown a callous disregard for the American people by promoting this radical's nomination."
